welcome mate, this is a great place for meeting good fanciers and really helpful and useful advice/information.
-
Yeah lets hope so! The only one thing that you can say is the youngbirds that work there socks off and come back 5-6 hours late or the following morning are gonna take some losing in the future as the ground they are covering has got to be immense. So those that are left you can say have well and truly earnt there perch! ;-)
-
Well whatever they decide to do they need to do it soon or they will have no members left in the sport let alone the fed and those that do stay will have very few if any birds!
-
I now have 100% returns from yesterday, my little hen just dropped through the traps! :-) Happy days! lol

Can anyone give me any info on the Bamford Bidders entries into the Europa Classic? Who is the owner, what club/fed etc? I believe the name could be Paul Bamford? any info? Cheers
-
I agree jas. Tom I think you have done a fantastic job with the national and the information is spot on. The info on libs etc has been a great help. But the sake of the national really depends on getting this problem fixed asap and as Jas says you are the one who has the ability to put all our feelings across. Keep up the good work Tom, I just hope we have birds left to compete with in the national events!

I would be willing to bet 3/4 of members in the fed after the first 4 races (the same race point and the shortest) will only have 1/2 there origional team left! I for one have 4 out of 15 and thats after 2! What chances have we got to get further down the road with these numbers? I think the ones who have been lucky upto now will be hit just like the rest of us its just a matter of time!

Tom the thing is mate, everyone should be saying the same thing from 60 miles! Not just one or two. Lets face it the best returns in my own club was 6/10 at knock off yesterday. three fanciers had had just 1 bird each. They should be falling through the traps at thay distance and the sad fact is for the majority of fanciers they arent!

I enjoy the South East route, but facts are speaking for themselves. I think the fed should look to turn south and hopfully then we will all experience good racing. At the moment this isnt racing, it a marathon for survival. Its not fair on the birds or the fanciers who have put so much effort in. I myself have been lucky this week and had 4/5 but last week was a disaster 5/15. These are birds that had been trained upto 20 times upto 40 miles line of flight! They were coming fantastic and out of the 20 tosses I lost just 1 bird. Then race day comes and a further 36 miles for my birds and I am nearly wiped out! I gave those pigeons every chance myself, but is the fed giving the birds the same chance flying this route. If you are flying through everyone else, you are bound to smashed all over the place. The birds have enough to contend with what with all the hawks etc without this extra hazard. We cant do much about the hawk situation but lets help ourselves with things we can change. I have never heard of so many distrungtled fanciers and the amount saying they are not going to continue. Can we really afford to lose these fanciers through our own stupidity? Lets turn the fed and try to regain the enthusiasm of a lot of top quality fanciers who are losing faith, patience and birds more and more on this route! Its time to help ourselves lads!

Well hello there bro!
-
My club are the same, the top flyer in old birds 1st race today and didnt have a pigeon out of 30 birds. Another club member has had 2 out of 10 and another 1 out of 10. I think I got lucky this week and had 4 out of 5, but last week only had those 5 out of 15!! The times are poor every race this season from Swindon though, so should the race point be looked at and maybe another chosen before the next race due to be from there? They cant be clashing every week from there can they? To think this is the shortest race point the returns are truly shocking!!!

Soda Crystals, Charcoal tablets is all you need. Had it 2 weeks ago and now the birds back training 40 miles yesterday. I bought some of the Adenosan but thought it was rubbish and didnt do anything.
-
Hello, welcome to the site m8. Plenty of thread topics here to get you started! You have picked a fantastic hobby by the way!
-
I have just had YBS and shringed 5ml of soda crystals down there throats. Then 1/2 hour later give them a charcoal tablet. Nothing to eat then for 24 hours. I then fed 1/4oz per bird conditioner the following morning. The next day it was 1/2 oz and then started introducing the young bird mix back in. I let them out yesterday for the 1st time in 2 weeks and today they flew for over an hour. I tried that Adenosan but didnt think it did a lot at all. Follow the steps above the YBS will be gone in no time!

going well then mate, well done. Tell the birds to keep up the good work! ;-)

I thought the same, but then changed my mind and decided to enter 3 in the Europa Classic for young birds this year to test them to see what they were like. All 3 still in the loft at present!! fingers crossed lol
-
Hiya Blaz. I believe the birds entered were from previous Europa Classic races. They were trained at the lofts and competed in the Final Race as youngsters. The owners then had the chance to enter them for the Europa 500. They also opened the race up to previous years birds that had completed the race. The were sent back at the owners rick of settling them into the loft. The entry fee was £250. So any of the youngsters that complete the Europa Race will have the option of entering next years 500 race.
