it's not the loftb that counts - we all have different preferances and finances will be better for some than others
as long as the birds are happy/healthy and race back to home who cares what the lofts like??
union ring is all thats needed IMO
Jesus wing stamps, ets ring, union ring, telephone ring, clip ring, no wonder the buggers get hawked - surprised they can take off wi all that weight
no chance of shooting them too many neighbours about and houses close to each other, live in a tree lined road and theres about 3 or 4 pairs nesting , never seen many when I was a kid but the things are a menace now.
just hope I get the younguns back but doubt it.
first one about a week ago - missus had 4 y/b in cages outside the loft for few days just getting them to trap and flutter about the garden and bang pair of magpies split the 4 and one totally spooked and on a mission to god knows where.
then again this morning same again but just the one magpie I saw it take ahold of one off the loft roof a couple of feathers flying and then the y/b was about 300 yrd high the other two managed to keep their heads but the one that got hit long gone now.
gd
lost two y/b over the past week due to magpie attacks, both 6 weeks old
rung between nehu 09 ss 300-330
thats my team reduced massively as had a bad start with the breeding.
just hope some one reports them
No problems with cats here
daughter wanted a dog for years, eventually gavei n and got her a dachshund, ended up with 2 now and they both hate cats , never had one in the garden since we got them and they're both lovely family dogs
looks to me to be outside of the regs
ie the bird isn't confined within the loft when timed in , it can simply decide to go back out the trap before passing through the bobs and the antennae is before the bobs so therefore not legal
is this what you were wanting ALF
For me it doesn't make much difference where the birds are flying into - all destinations will ahve there advantages/disadvantages depending on conditions on the day ,and everyone from their own area will have an argument to say their birds have it tougher. but I would rather have a bird thats beat 20 or 30 thousand so I look to birds that top the unc as the birds of most ability. ;-)
whatever you do - do not be tempted to stick back a cap/crown on your teeth using superglue
I have an aquaintance who regularly did this and he ended up needing to have a bone graft to his jaw and all his teeth as implants due to glue rotting away the gums etc
