can any member shed any light on the wing moult .ie when to send when not to send when to rest or stop birds for the season .also any other tips ect on the wing moult thanks

last year i bred my 9th nat eastborne hen with david broons 23rd or 24th eastbourne .early in the year the cock 993 paired to a good jancen hen (bred winners for me ) so me trying to be smart left them .the young cock happly sitting eggs all day when the rest of yb team out flying.about 3rd or 4th race i put 993 in basket for race not thinking. i was back in house before i noticed what i had done . all birds home on saturday bar him . i then went bleep bleep fu bleep. a few days later i got told to phone one of the good guys in the sport steven aitchison from eyemouth. i said i think you have one of my yb,s .he said i knew that this yb would be claimed as i have 42 strays and he is the pick of them a very nice yb,what is the number on his ring i asked .he then said su10ml993 music to my ears. so their are still a few very helpful fanciers out their

my old birds season has come to an END.with the sound advice from kingbilly on hear i will stop all my old birds now.he also gave very good advice for next year for my birds and me to fly better and further .i end the season very happy . with 4 national tickets from marlborough 1st club 1st fed 19th open 2nd sec 2nd club 5th fed 24th sec 171st 3rd club 396th open 73 sec 4th club 397th open 74 sec come back race thirsk 1st club 7th fed. eastbourne 1st club 3rd fed open 36th nat open 27 sec 2nd club 8th fed open 111th nat open75th sec 3rd club 15th fed open 214th nat open 4th club 16th fed open 294th nat open. also won fed gold cup i am a wee bit disapointed as i know my bird 1617 my 4th bird marlborough my 1st bird eastbourne would inprove again but to far up on wing moult.lesson learned for next year. 1014 was 214th open eastbourne so this season he has 1st club otterburn 6th fed 2nd club 5th fed 24th sec 172 open marlborough 3rd club 214th open eastbourne. don,t know whare he will be on fed open from eastbourne

my GOOD neighbours never say anything about birds being out. some days my good neighbours have been knowen to be out their back gardens shooting but that is another story :emoticon-0140-rofl:

my yb,s get out in morning with old birds .i somtimes shout them in about 3 or 4 for a feed .when all birds have had a feed birds can go out or stay in it is up to them.i then add more food to hoppers so as when birds come back in later their is food for them. yb,s and old birds are mixed .most yb,s find their own way to yb secsion on their own or just stay in the loft whare they hatched.i know it is not one of the systems like widowhood or round about it is the kinbebothard system . it works for me

got all birds home 7 out off 7 a very good race .still a bit gutted with my 19th open 2nd sec from marlborough home but hawked.
