  1. i don,t think i will be sending as my 1st pick 2year old dark ch came back on Sunday with slight injury.
  2. CHEERS LADS all 4 plus others will be going to eastbourne all going well
  3. i think it is right to basket on Thursday for inland nationals as gives plenty time for birds to get down to race point. whare the birds can rest after journey down it is also well known that the conveyor does a good job looking after them.on hot days like friday past evry 2nd basket was pulled out to help the air get round them all and water on baskets all day giving birds plenty time to get a drink
  4. hear are photos of my 4 birds my 1st 2 are bred same way my 4th bird only went to get hours on wing and was not a 100% fit.as other 3 have had more racing and tranning than him from bottom to top 1st 2nd 3rd 4th
  5. INVERESK AND DISTRICT RESULT MARLBOROUGH 1ST GARY CAIRNS VEL 1086.5 2ND GARY CAIRNS VEL 942.5 3RD GARY CAIRNS VEL 828.4 4TH GARY CAIRNS VEL 828.4 their is only 2 seconds difrence between my 3rd and 4th pigeon. after a phone call from club mate.i said i had 4 and had clocked 2 he said to go and clock the other 2 so i did.i know now it was very stupid of me not to clock 3rd and 4th right away. WON,T MAKE THAT MISTAKE AGAIN still very happy with result not bad for having a bit of horseman through them.

  7. hear is a link i got from brian massay worth a look http://solar-center....er/pigeons.html
  8. can only say for myself and that would be 1 to be more wary to sending birds to race point further west than birds have raced before especially with a strong north east wind.
  9. like it has been said marlborough has been a very bad race.hope something is learned from it.time to pull socks up and think about eastbourne. as for any bird beating 1134 will not be from this side .my 1st 2 velocities are roughly 1086.5 and 942.5 my 1st bird will be in top 3 in secsion with not a lot separating 1st 3 birds in secsion B i have 7 out of 14 home with one of my cocks home with a small hole in him .he was 1st fed 18th open ypres last year .just glad he made it home

  12. it just shows how old hands show us whippersnappers how to race
  13. i hope when thay check my time thay stick a dial as that big smudge not sure if 3 17.51 or 3.16.51 . will also add 2 yb,s bred same way as the cock that i timed in will be ready soon for eddieg46 who bought 2 off mine at the sale to help the young football players the sale fifer put up. yet another good 1 from my blue pair i will also add i won,t win my fed as an older gentleman of 72 years young George summers clocked a pigeon from the race at 3.20 .georges pigeon had a few more mile to fly than mine well done mr G Summers
  14. WELL DONE chris donaldson that will be him hooked on nat racing now
  15. 4 out of 14 from the s.n.f.c race
  16. i now have 4
  17. got one at 3.17
  18. one of the members should put up a phone number for you . . also can you give bird a drink
  19. weather Marlborough 7am Saturday wind 10mph NNE gusting to 22mph sunny clear sky temp 11C
  20. thats good to know. even my 2 dogs like it when it is time for nationals. as i can,t sit at peace and keep taking them out for a lap of the field
  21. i would not let the misses read that thats right state the obvious
  22. yes it is real yes wild hawks kill our birds yes criminal law breaker will be getting a hawk yes he also races pigeons . i can,t see a problem with doing both and with a bit of luck when his pigeons are safely in their loft and the hawk is out on its perch hopefully it might deter the smaller bops from his area making it a bit safer for his pigeons to be out
  23. yes you can do both using a bit of common sense having your hawk out of sight of pigeons when thay are out and if hawk is one of the bigger breed have it in full view of any of the smaller bop,s that attack your birds and mine when birds are back in the loft.
  24. if it happened to me i would have asked if i could have put birds through then get a stb clock and take it to who ever was the clock setter.don,t know if this would be against rules but maybe in this circumstance it might have been allowed.?? as for any payment to any of the volunteers i know for a fact thay don,t get any payment for it and i have only been a S.N.F.C.member for a year.if it was not for them giving up their time and putting in good work and effort we would not be racing nationals.
