their is a number of reasons it was sick in basket . disease is 1 of them i think travel could be another to say pigeons don,t get travel sick i think is wrong. a few years back i got days mixed up. then got told the birds where getting put in baskets for nat now. i ran out to loft put feed for birds in hoppers with a good load of peanuts. got to marking then told you feed a lot of peanuts .hows that their in your basket. so reading the start of this thread birds must have been ill.did not stop them doing well and all home. i would not have asked for bird to be withdrawn but would have asked for all birds to be put in to another basket .

later suits me a bit warmer for a start. also 18mph wsw who does that suit

nicely explained the reason i suggested the cock that was driving his hen (before i knew it was a fantail) was i have had good results from cocks sent guarding 1st egg and pushing for 2nd the best of which would be 1st fed Marlborough 2nd sec 19th open plus other good results same way. had my lot training 1st time this year with 2 from sutra hill 10 miles to me. i don,t do much for the early races but up it when we get near the newark race with the aim this year to pick up fed gold cup again .it will be a lot slower race tomorrow with the north wind. all the best for the race.if i had have had an old cock fighting like that his legs would have had a wee bit string tied to both legs . it sorts them out as can,t get purchase to fight so soon stops.

don,t think you can,t be very competitive when flying natural against them on widowhood.i have always flew natural and hold my own in fed.latebreeds can surprise you my 1st bird yesterday was a latebreed 1st time in basket 2nd club and think will be in top 10 of fed.i can,t see their being a bird to beat yours in fed i hope so well done

we all do our birds a bit different from each other. last year my yb,s out everyday wednesday Thursday before 1st race yb,s got 2 x 10 miles then to race best yb season i have had.

only 2nd but will be well in on fed result i think.so can,t complain latebred 1st time in basket
