as i will be racing distance pigeons .next year any tips would be appreciated.hear is some birds i have to get me started.the 1st 2 are down from noble lad the 2nd is down from the pau winner the 3rd i cant remember whot he told me .all 4 plus one to come are all from the other half of 67 girl on hear thanks alot. the red checker is is a jan theelan from a pair red rocket just bought in for stock .the pied cock is from jimmy the encyclopedia white.from his good bird sir colin when paired to a hen that scored 9 times from the water to fife i think.the dark checker is a double Gson of bits and pices.and the wee blue on the nest is my wee hen that got 9th open eastbourne .with a bit of hard work and luck on our side she will face the water next year.

stall trap for young birds .sputnik for old birds. if you get a good consistent yb 3rd time it is home 1st it will look at you and think you an,t grabbing me or maybe not .in a stall trap it hardly knows it has been touched

win lose or draw i won,t be one of the moaners .i would just like to take part in a race with this type of bidage. it wont be easy for jock so a bit more encouragement would not go a miss.

i had a small team this year sending about 6 to 12 each week .will probably be in top 2 or 3 of fed won a few fed trophies and club trophies also 3 natinal tickets from eastbourne in my 1st national so have had a very good season. also have most of them still hear.

OK the birdage might be down a bit but it will still be in the thousands.the more birds coming up the road together the better.also it will be more competitive it will give our birds more of a chance in any clashes . i for one hope it succeeds .it will also be better for scottish racing it,s got to be.

just got sent a link about it so now i know. i think it is a top class idea and wish jock all the best with trying to get it started again. i would definitely be up for it.i would like to see all races for it over 300 mile in to midlothian.

i myself dont separate any of my pairs.i just take the nest bowels away .if i see any trying to build a nest i remove it right away. it works for me and i think i keeps my birds happy and more content.

thanks for the remarks as i said what goes around comes around . will put up the birds that are coming tomorrow night for ME now i cant wait to see them all distance birds.

the object of horseman pigeons is to catch other peoples horsemen. example i put out a cock bird and someone else puts out a hen bird birds meet. normally mate the either split or the hen goes back with the cock bird or vice versa. if in this case my cock bird brought back the hen and i caught it then i would need to put out a hen bird next it,s called a return . the birds are caught by pulling a hood over them when they land on board .the hood is very similar to a baby's pram hood.one of my friends has a cock bird that has caught 35 hens
