  1. better to cut it down . our have a bird turn round and out on race day.even at 4 .5 in the odd 1 or 2 can still do it. our don,t lose any get your other half to get som half inch ply and cut out to fit each one then you don,t lose any cut and stick with a strong glue

  10. i had this happen to me with a cock yearling from eastbourne.i think he was not 100% fit as the bird before him and the 2 after you would think they raced 100 mile or so. he is a big pigeon as you can see.but after 2 days he looked top notch and handled Bryant.i will try him a bit further this year and make sure he is a good bit fitter.to me it was like it took eastbourne to get him fit. i might be wrong as at these distances i am just learning.he also had a fret mark on each wing from this race as it was pointed out to me by a fancier with more know how
  11. :)after doing the help for heroes sale .getting in the checks and dealing with pm,s ect ect. i would just like to say THANKS to IB BRUNO who has made my day.now i get to make someone else's day because of him. :).
  12. scoring like that with the birdage so high after 2 years racing. you must be doing something right welldone does not cover it birds in top 1%.all the best for 2010
  13. i would only give off my best to a mate in my fed. if they are no competition to me then i will give the best i can and have done.
  14. it will be hard to get the best sprint middle distance birds from someone in your area unless you know them. try look at fed results from a different fed to you maybe a fed on your boundary .look and pick out the three or four names that keep coming up week in week out. then try them for yb,s by phone it should not be to hard to get phone numbers from club secretary. also ask which strains they race and where did the original parents or grand parents come from . some will help some will not don,t be put off if at 1st you get brushed of quick style.as for exact strains we all have slightly different opinions .most good strains their name will keep coming up. van loons/ staff van reets /busshartes to name only 3 . another way watch the forum this season see who is doing the winning then ask them a few questions about strain parents ect sure they will help
  15. if you don,t get to night will measure mine tommorow.as they where home made by member in my club.also they are a bit deeper so birds can,t turn and get out.
  16. the most consistent pigeon i have had week in week out was a staff van reet cock winning my 1st race 70 mile then at 90 mile then at 180. as a yb then winning and scoring as a yearling and 2 year old
