We'll we all have our stories and reasons for getting hooked on this great hobby but how we build a team of birds that will do all we ask of them is through years of trial and error and even then I don't think we will be totally happy because we will always find something else to improve or conquer just to prove a point to ourselves and others. This is what makes this fascination with our birds so great.

Don't be fooled by the local buzzards plumber, they'll have a go at your pigeons if they're hungry enough, I have seen them on a few occasions attempting to lift pigeons. :o

Its shocking to know that there are people in our society who can do this to a defenceless animal, cruel barbaric bassa's should be hung if their ever found. :angry:

You could take three Dan but I wouldn't recommend it if your planning to race the bird as well, thats why I suggested taking an early round and then you can play about with the nesting cycle during racing using pot eggs and the odd hatchling.

Take an early round off what birds you have left after this years racing mate

Giving it a miss this year as we're off to Orlando in July and one of our Daughters will be getting married in September so have to keep the purse strings a bit tight

Too true Walter and sadly theres plenty of them about these days You'll just have to invite Michael over some weekend and both of you have a good few natters over tea/coffee (definately no alcohol as that will cloud the mind lol) and see if anything else of note arises

I have a few fancier friends in the Cornwall area I hope the damage isnt too bad as they seem to be in the worst area for the forecast and flooding tonight :(

I think we learn something most days when we spend time observing our birds in and around the lofts, its always handy to have a small note pad and a pen in the pockets of your loft coat.
