We spend all autumn and winter scouring the papers, sales and auctions looking for that special bird or even pair. We finally persuade the wife to let us buy those birds that we know will bring those winning cards. We pair them as soon as we can and feed them the best corn money can buy and wait for those special eggs. We check to see if those eggs are full. Yes result!! We wait for the shells to appear and count the days until we can ring them. We check every day to see what colour our new champions will be. We wean them again on the best corn. We carefully introduce them to the out side world just in case they take off and never seen again. We are gutted to see the BOP’s take our future champs as soon as they take to the air. We must do something about it.

would this be about right. 50miles - 160 miles = Sprint, 161miles - 275 miles = Small Middle Distance, 276 miles - 400 miles = Heavy Middle Distance, 400 miles - 550 miles = Long Distance, 550 miles + = Heavy long distance
