Is the grey dark and shiny?
-
I second that, a warm welcome from me as well.
-
My advice would be simple, follow Jimmy's advice as its pretty much spot on and a perfect example of old school knowledge embracing the internet as a tool to enhance his learning. Great post Jimmy, and an even better post by you PigeonNewbie.

No problem and thanks for letting me know, as you hadn't mentioned Gail I was just trying to help, that now saves me typing.
-
Going to send Gail from the WHU a mail to let her know as most of them are on her list, perhaps she'll be able to pass on the numbers to the owners. Thanks for the post Strapper.

Same here Chris.

If its coureir related then yes, I may well have some input but it will only ever be fact that's for sure. Not sure whether you realize it but your caps lock key is stuck on.

I don't know who you are but you'll find I've never once come onto this forum "Shooting my mouth off" and I've p.md Chris to that degree now. I only ever post facts that I can back up, nothing more. I'm not on here to get into arguments or discredit anyone, or even to advertise for that matter, I'm on here to answer questions and post a few facts now and again. Amtrak wouldn't have done that, neither would Coopers etc, I can see why now as its not nice having faceless bullies trying to goad them all the time. It's really is starting to look like there's a few playground bullies coming onto this forum ganging up on Pigeon Tracker, so I'll post this one message to you and to the other four who seem to wear the same t-shirts. This one isn't for bullying, you couldn't do it in my face so on a forum its going to be downright impossible as it makes you lot look bad not me. And for the record, I've read through every single one of my posts and not once said Pigeon Tracker are the best, its our customers who say that and I have no control over that. Take care, Jamie

After much demand from our customers I've placed an order with my manufacturer for custom made Squeaker boxes (6 Birds) for the mad season as it seems there is no-where you can get them since Amtrak went under, if there is anyone wanting to place a pre-order please let me know via info@ pigeontracker.com so that I can gauge how many to order which in turn should allow me to sell them on cheaper. I also have smaller boxes being made and will be making them available on demand, if people can let me know the best price they can get the boxes for I'm going to try and go one better and make them the most cheapest available for all. Not sure whether this is the right area to post? Please move if needed.

You'll find that the one's who run them down are usually the one's who don't use them that often in the first place which is one of the reasons I pay little or no attention to their comments. The real fancier customer will cherish thier chosen courier and encourage them not beat them up. I often get worried when this praise is heaped on courier A B and C because it puts pressures on them to maintain the promises they made when starting out which is usually an unrealistic one certainly in the long term.

Sorry about the thread going astray here Steve, we can take this on and will p.m the details.
-
Never thought you were part of their company to know thier business Duncan? Pigeons were are good revenue stream for them and probably did play a part in thier demize, who knows, you certainly don't, niether do I but giving anything way at a loss is never a good move. Anyway, as much as I'd like to chit-chat about the world of commerce this has nothing to do with the original post so will let the thread move on now. Did the poster get someone in the end?

Can't afford one, spent all my money on boxes. ;D

Your welecome.

Just spoke to you on the phone and it was a case of me mis-reading for which I apologised. Point of fact it was 6 old and contaminated amtrak boxes we used, two which I had to change as they'd been over weakened by previous use, so it was just the 12 I gave you free, my mistake. As for the phone call, you couldn't have got them ready if you hadn't had the boxes but as explained via telephone we can't always get through to people via mobile phones due to signal problems, flat batteries and so on. If a crap company is one who waits as long as I did for you to box the birds, give you the boxes and even helped you box them I'd like to know what a good company is? The problem with us fanciers is that because Amtrak were stupid enough to give boxes away free (one of the reasons that led to them going bankrupt I suspect) many of us think the ones who've taken over can automatically do so. The truth is that these boxes are expensive and as I expplained on the phone I've invested heavily in getting boxes and squeaker boxes manufactured and will be selling them at the lowest price on the market so that I can at least to my bit to help the pocket of the fancier without running the risk of going bankrupt by those who'd take, take and then take some more without worry for the courier. Jamie

Now you hang on,. you cut this lying out, you had 18 FREE boxes off me and my time when I called up to you and not once asked for 75 pence for the boxes I never charged the young lad down in Wales for the boxes either so get your facts straight as libel is a pretty expensive thing to defend against. Duly reported to the moderators as I'm not having false allegations made. Oh, and for the record, we've had boxes manufactured and will be selling them for 42pence per box to the public during shows. For customers we'll be giving free up to a limit where we have to draw the line as some, like you bigda (your not actually that big by the way) want everything for nothing. Couriers will soon go bankrupt going to this level to gain custom and people like you aren't going to be worrying as your take take take. Record put straight for you.

It's not mad, some people would use this site for a free advertising platform, the fact is the owner probably pays a lot of money to run the forum and if someone wants to advertise an auction they are going to earn money from then they should be prepared to pay for that privalage? Just my take on it though.

We've got very different digestive tracts and tolerance levels. One of the reasons we get things like Spanish tummy on holiday and why they say don't drink the water. Not because its not clean but because its harder and contains different chemicals our stomaches can't cope with. The reason to boil as a precaution is the water boards of this world don't always get it right and also put in chemicals that belong in toothpaste. Last time I looked my birds never had teeth so had no need for fluoride.

And that's why its such a good forum. That said, it must cost plenty to run such a big ship so will do all I can to see if I can help with the rest.

Excellent offer and a great way to get someone started in the sport.
-
No problem Duncan, I wasn't to know that and didn't want to give his number out without first asking him, thanks for letting me know.

If anyone wants John's contact details when he comes back from Japan let me know I'll arrange for him to phone you, won't post it here as I'm not sure he'd appreciate that.

I've used the boil and stand system since the 60's when my mentor (Grandfather) told me never to trust what the council put in what we called (council pop) Here's the simple method I use. Urn or large pan of water with a linen cloth over the top to act as a filter, a stove, boil the water, leave for two days, boil again with cloth and then after its cooled it will be as pure as your likely to get.

We drop to John on almost a weekly basis and won't hesitate on recommending him even though we're problably going to take a van over there ourselves as there's simply not enough of him to go around, well worth using him.

He has to be knighted for that performance and for what he's done for the sport, if Sir Clive woodwood got it for rugby, Fergie for soccer, and Redgrave for rowing then why not Joe for the services he's done for boxing. Well done Joe, proud of you as is all of Wales and the UK because after all he's British not just Welsh.
