We cover the whole of the UK although we don't do single drops up to Scotland for example unless by special request. As for cost you'd be better to go over to our holding page http://www.pigeontracker.com/ (Excuse the mess, we're re-designing). You'll find the basics there and just to be transparent outside of Wales is pretty much based on how far we have to go, how many birds per trip and so on. You won't find us dearer than Amtrak and our service is certainly better.

Yes, we have a system in place that also means we phone you on the day to confirm your in, (things can crop up such as an emergency at home etc). We do this for both finder and owner. We then phone both shortly before we arrive to confirm details and to let you know to put the kettle on.

Thanks for the kind words Flighty Hen, S*expletive removed*horpe run was a nightmare in the weather so the driver tells me, 6 hours of solid rain on the way back but at least all birds were delivered on time as promised.

I've has a number of requests via p.m to start a thread to let everyone throw questions to me regarding Pigeon Tracker and what we might be able to offer our customers so fire away. I won't promise to be able to answer every post but I'll certainly do my best.

Amtrak won't be missed, and judging from the horror stories from our customers its better that they aren't around any more.

Your welcome Chris, sometimes it takes someone to come in and referee a fight before it gets out of hand. I'm not saying this dwayne is all wrong but the way he came about it certainly was. Transport is always going to be a bone of contention among fanciers and flyers as nobody wants to pay out money to recover their pigeons, they cost enough as it is. Unfortunately pigeon racing by its nature means this is going to happen, although it doesn't mean we all can't work together on a solution that eases the burden of the fanciers pocket without compromising on quality of service. I'm working on a zoning system at the moment Chris and will keep you and everyone in the loop as and when, and if there's any input that can be given I'd be more than happy to hear from you all, the one thing I do that others haven't in the past (Amtrak come to mind) is listen and learn, it doesn't matter if you can spell or can't if the message is clear that's all that counts, you did just fine on that score. Without going into war and peace I'd say one thing is absolutely vital and that's for the left hand to let the right hand know what its doing, that way we don't end up pulling in opposite directions, the left and the right being the owner and the courier. Don't raise to the bait Chris, people should be allowed to agree to disagree which goes for both of you. I for one think your idea is admirable if not fully certainly parts of it and I've said as much on the phone to you, and this is even though I have a courier service. The reason I don't think the idea has any real legs is the cost, certainly over longer distances, people seem to think running a courier service is a licence to print money, I can tell you and anyone else it isn't, and with the price of petrol and diesel only getting higher its going to get tougher. My honest opinion for what its worth is that both of you have good points even though I did not like the un-needed jibe by this dwaynepipe, not on my xmas card list just yet. The problems that come with setting up any type of volunteer based system is pretty much dealt with by dwaynepipe (Drain Pipe, I got it as well). You might well be enthusiastic and so may a few others but even short deliveries cost a small fortune and nothing is going to take away from that fact. People will also get bored, get old, or get out, arguments over who will run what will happen and communications will break down, even volunteers need money to pay for petrol so you'd have to go for charitable status and run it as such, I could go on and on. On a positive note I do think that a holding system between fanciers could work well with couriers like my company and we'd be more than prepared to pass on this benefit by being able to reduce prices. We're already cheaper than Amtrak (and better dare I say) because of the input by people like you, and if we had some sort of holding system in place where my staff could quickly go to fetch the pigeons we'd possibly be able to go even cheaper without compromising on service and still remain a viable operation so it would be a win win situation for all and that's what its about. It depends on why someone took on the sec's job in the first place, some take it on for ego and the fuzzy warm feeling of importance that comes with the role, some take it on because they have a passion for the sport, some take it on for other reasons buts its usually the first two that count. 'Thanks' is like the word 'sorry', for some reason its not in many people's vocabulary. My view, good luck and well done on the work you've already done, you may give up the post but don't give up the sport.

Looks like you were right? http://forum.pigeonbasics.com/m-1220250933/ Good luck to all.

All areas of England in theory providing we have more than one bird at a time to deliver. We can do special requests but until we've become firmly established our pricing would have to work around the distance we'd have to travel. As for Scotland, we're not thinking of going as far as that just yet unless one of our runs takes us that far north, for example as our s*expletive removed*horpe run on Monday is, then we'd certainly consider it. Scotland is definately pencilled in as a full destination though in the near future. Hope that helps.
-
We do, in fact we're doing a run up England Monday if its of any use. Good luck on recovery whoever you use.

Thanks for saving me the time, you can tell I'm not used to this forum stuff. :B Apologies to all for the poor temporary webpage we have there, we're working on it as we speak and hope you understand its no reflection on our service. We don't tie sat navs to the pigeons backs either. ;D

Hello Chris, our website is currently being re-developed to cater for the expansion into recovery of pigeons. I'm sure if you send an e-mail to them at info@pigeontracker.com you'll get a prompt answer. As for the advertisements, we're working on it, so please be patient. The important thing to know is that our service is readily available for those in the Wales area. Hope that clears this up for you, I think someone has already given our phone number above? Someone made a good point about vaccinations and transport, wouldn't I be correct in saying that most reputable bird owners would have thier birds vaccinated at the earliest stages? I know I do.

Thanks, we've been in business a long time recovering lost animals and inanimate objects with another branch of our company so thought it a natural progression to go into pigeons. We're bound to get the odd critic who says 'oh another one jumping in' but they don't have to use us, many others have and they're quite happy with our service. Have to say, been reading through the forum, some excellent info here.

Hi everyone, hope this is the right place to post., sure the mods will move it to a more suited one if it isn't. Most would have known by now that Amtrak have issues and people are being left in the lurch so just wanted to let you all know there is life after them. Pigeon Tracker is a company set up by a group of pigeon fanciers with more years experience than I'd care to share, they deliver pretty much anywhere but their main patch is the entire South Wales and Wales in general. Contact number for them is 01443 775485 or you can e-mail then via info (a) pigeontracker.com or even reply to me here. Thanks.
