  2. never heard of feeding bananas, but i have been known to put a tub of cress into the loft and used garlic(purifys the blood) and honey in the water i suppose any greens would be good for them.
  3. years ago when i was a boy i used to have tumblers and fantails (thats how i started)and they used to do that,mind you only as ybs before they got to the piont of flying,they never seemed to take any hurt.

  5. had resperitry probs last year with ybs,bought some o s e. bit pricey, via regency lofts, came direct from belgium, but was well worth it within 4 days different birds altogether would recomend it.

    someone has just touched a nerve, im a member of the jedforest hunt supporters and i enjoy seeing the hounds work,im also a keen shot and gamekeeper and it just so happens i race pigeons and have for thirty years im certanly not anti bloodsport,iwent on the march to london along with falconers,fishermen,ferreters huntsmen of all persuasians(beagles.harriers,foxhounds ,minkhounds and yes even pigeon fanciers)no one can call me anti bloodsport

    why not give goshawk a chance boys and girls there are some genuine people out there,i have said on previous threads what i thought about b o p has ahybody met him/her,until then i dont think you should comment on his/her integrety
  15. before the days of emulsion/masonary paint we used to use white/lime wash inside the lofts no lops then.
  16. i know mick but try telling the local wildlife officer or the rspb they are to busy trying catch the likes of me out,which they will never do.as i wont break the law
  17. hi goshawk, i live within a 1 mile radius of three falconers, 1 of them was fined a couple of years ago for flying a bird of prey to a tethered pigeon, his penalty 5 pound fine,if it wasme being a gamie also it would be afine up to 1000 pound another has nehu birds brought to him to fly his falcons to, the third has a genuine intrest in pigeons and would not fly his birds to them,im not sure which catergory you come in but can you understand how we feel when this happens, i apologize for getting off thread.

    i agree with superstar,the answers i gave were what i know to be the truth to the best of my knowledge,as well as being a pigeon fancier im a game keeper, and suffer badley with birds of preyon both sides but i would not jeperdise my shotgun or firearms licence for the sake of a falcon, there are uther deterents.
  19. ive, had a goshawk take them off the loft, and sparrahawks tend to kill them close to ground,and of course mr and mrs percy take them in the air.

  24. hi richard, i used to live ine kibblesworth but my first club was mt pleasant, on the bankies i could come and pick this bird up any time after sunday anyyin havving birds to come to scotland i will gladley pick up by the way i live in the scottish borders jedburgh.
