  1. Don't agree with that pricing strategy Stu... You can get 6 off one pigeon in a season dead easy - that means that everything from that point onwards is effectively free of charge. So... I know off many world class pigeons who's offspring sell at £500 each. There's no way that the owners would ever sell the Champion for 6 times that figure.
  2. Aye Can see the Royal Blue - Benson there ............
  3. Always an interesting question People may have chidren off "this cock" or "that cock". The absolutely CRITICAL thing though is that some brothers/sisters are a lot more talented than other ones. Carl Lewis has a brother - but he can't run !!!!!! Not knocking the Hawkins pigeon or anything like that - just talking broadly you understand.
  4. No - sorry no youngsters available. Also, I think we get too stuck on family names. M & D have bred generations of winners for a long time now- they are THEIR family of pigeons now. Just luike Gaby - he buys a Noel Lippens bred pigeon in - suddenly its a Gaby Vandenabeele pigeon
  5. It takes a father & a mother to breed a National winner - whatever the parentage. What I do know though is that within the last decade there's been plenty of National victories that have fallen to the Evans Vandenabeeles. NFC, MNFC, BBC, SCSFC, BICC, UNC - they've won the lot. Pretty hard to get away from that base fact.
  6. Yep- the Gaby's do well both as 100% - but especially crossed Gary Daykin crosses em well with soontjens
  7. Good pigeon that Direct son of Golden Boy & we were racing him but he smashed the wires
  8. Is the father of this pair "No.50" that Steve had off us ?
  9. Cheers..... The decision has been coming for a season or two now. Typical, just as we've moulded the best time of Stock we've ever had too. Not to worry, the children of these Stock birds (our racers) will provide our own 2007 YBs and I've more than every confidence in them - especially judging the winners they've chucked for the last few seasons. Most of them are moving on privately - 3 maybe 4 will be advertised - including Assassin.
  10. £75 each would be the price for young out the widowers - but they're better bred than lots of people's stock pigeons. As for Stock - well the chance to buy pigeons off Assassin etc has gone now. Each & every Stock pigeon will be sold in the next 2-3 months. Stock loft is closing down For 2007 we're racing 15 widowhood cocks & 20 YBs - that's yer lot Mike

Westy Unfortunately some Feds are known for being "chancers" or "cowboys" Me and Al Wilkins have a decent idea who they are too !

Undeniably best bet is Clive Yates. He's had em 30 years and they've won the lot
  21. 6 home from 6 - job's a good 'un
  22. MIck Most of the blokes who criticise Specialist Clubs haven't got the foggiest of an idea the problems that you have to endure to put on a season's racing. Now, I'm no particular fan of the NFC - but I don't slag em off. To be honerst, I think the NFC have done a GREAT job this season considering the naff situation we were in. Basiocally only able to fly in July & can't turn pigeons back to back & they went overboard in putting distance racing on. Couldn't fault em. Yeah, we all know Sennen Cove etc is a graveyard - but what options are there. Whatever you suggest you'll upset fanciers in at least 3 Sections. Mike
  23. I think we're all pretty kn8ckered for long distance racing into France in future
  24. No - keeping our heads down this week. Not sending Some big races coming up & can't afford a hiccup
  25. No win situation for the NFC. Wherever they go they're snookered. As for going North there's precioys few in Midlands and North of us who'd fly - we're all South Roaders. The "fairest" would have been not to have a YB race at all - but that would have pi$$sed people off too. I'd say the NFC were trying to make the best of a sh!t deal myself
