  1. i have had an outbreak of the dreaded squirts in my stock loft.there are 2 cocks and 3 hens that are very, very loose.i have also lost a late bred squeaker, went light and then died.a freind who has vast experience in this field diagnosed coccidiosis, apparently passed on to the youngsters by the old birds.they have all been treated with coxoid and are improving every day.a lesson learned for me.even though i vaccinated for pmv and paratyphoid, this one got passed me.

    REDS

oops sorry wrong photo thought you said 2 red heads. ;D ;D
  3. there are lots of threads on here concerning the topic of watery droppings,it can be caused by a variety of complaints, its not easy to diagnose i,m afraid.
  4. open the birds beak and have a look down his throat if its canker you will see a whiteish growth lining the inside of his throat, this is canker.it can be scraped away carefully but this is only a short term cure.they must be treated for it.
  5. that looks like a dropping from a very hungry pigeon to me,sometimes when they dont have a feed for a while they produce very wet, wattery, green slimey droppings.i,m not saying you are underfeeding,i,m saying that for some reason this bird doesn,t seem to be getting much food, maybe canker is the problem and he can,t swallow corn properly.just a thought.
  6. i got a pair of pure white kirkpatricks, but he aint having them. :P

    NUMPTY01

i remember seeing a pick of him wearing a pvc suit, perhaps he,s handcuffed to a bed somewhere. ;D
  14. just thinking of trying it myself next year.i was told that it can disorientate the birds but its a system i am yet to investigate,so i know virtually nothing about the system.my youngsters are in various stages of the molt at the moment so theres no point this year is there.
  15. just out of curiosity, can i ask who uses the darkness system with their youngsters and how have your returns been so far this season.
  16. it will not hurt them to keep them a little on the hungry side.as soon as they land from their next fly get them in and feed them straight away and whatever stays out will not have any at all.keep doing this everyday they will soon get the message.sounds drastic i know but as soon as they get into the habit you should,nt have no problems trapping.
