same thing happened to me today,14 returned late as it was getting late still got 14 missing.

let my birds out today at 12 when the mist lifted,unfortunately the mist came down again with a vengance and 3 hours later at 3.oopm i had 28 missing.they obviously got lost in the mist.the good news is 14 have now returned,they started dropping in 1 at a time as it started to get dark.i have high hopes that the rest will come in the morning.a lesson learned.DO NOT LET YOUR BIRDS OUT IN THE FOG.

i had 15 visitors to my loft,season gone by.all of them were reported and i must admit that most of the owners arranged collection or picked their birds up in person.2 birds still remain,they have been reported back in the summer but the owners have not replied to me,so i will contact the owners once again today to see what they want me to do with their birds.i do not accept"put them in the garden"as an answer,so i guess that may be the reason why i have not heard off them.

our shows are well under way and my birds have picked up a few cards allready which is encouraging.first show was any age through the wires,my birds were commended.the secound was any age through the wires and this time they got third place and commended.how are your birds doing in the shows?

i have 30 youngsters in a 10x6 section.plenty of perches in there and they also have the option of a large avairy if they wish.i would put a maximum of 25 in a 6x6 section,with plenty of exercise and lots of perches they should be fine.

thanks for the replys,i have about ten of my older youngsters that are on their last flight,the rest are at various stages of the moult.

with our first show scheduled for this sunday,my birds are looking great.what i want to know is will a pigeon who is growing his last flight back be frowned upon by a judge,or will it be overlooked.

the two stock birds of mine that got out are now sat on the roof at their old home.as the loft is no longer there it is proving a pain to try and trap them.i have hopes that hunger will soon bring them back in with my birds.this will be the third day they have been out,so i have a feeling that they may be getting food scraps from somewhere.

thats what i have been doing.when they escaped i immeadiately let my racers out to try to keep them around the area but these two birds had not been out for 2 years so i guess they thought it was their birthday.

yes they did, but another fact that is my favour is that their old lofts are no longer there.

so do i,they have dollar attached to them and i cant afford to replace them at the moment.keeping my fingers crossed.this will be the secound night they have been out.

i accidently released two of my stock birds.they somehow got out of their section and into the corridoor.when i entered the loft i was not aware that they were there and they went out over my head.they are two red cheq hens,one is not rung except for a red plastic ring and the other is wearing a red whu2007 ring.i have been back to were i got them from but they have not turned up there yet.these birds have never been out around the area where i live so they could turn up anywhere.please keep an eye out for them.unfortunately they are not wingstamped.

i prefer to let them go through it naturally theres no rush this time of year,so no harm to let it progress naturally.
