  1. thanks again gail.were would we be without you.
  2. i picked a pigeon up from a non fancier in the newport area yesterday, her ring number is whu2010c06375 a light cheq hen.the person contacted me because she had been browsing this site and found my number on one of the threads.the bird was wearing a telephone ring but when i rang the number it kept saying number not recognised so i do not know what was going on there.i kept the bird at my place over night, she was a little run down but soon perked up after a rest and a feed.the area code on the tele ring (02920)suggested that she was from the cardiff area.as i was in cardiff this morning i took the bird with me and released her in the cardiff bay area.would be interesting to know if the bird got home okay, but i still cant get through on the number taken off her tele ring.paul
  3. i,m trying to find out where the nearest north road club is to me.i am in newport and i have heard that there is a club in machen which i cannot find and one in ynysddu but i cant find that one either.has anyone heared of these clubs,or any others in my area.
  4. i,m sure that i can find some spare rings for you,pm me your address and i will send them to you. sorry offer is now closed.
  5. the reason that i was packing up was because the local council found out that i now have a 30' x 8' loft with an aviary on the front.originally when i built the loft they would only allow a 10' x6' which i kept to at first.but then i just added another bit, then another and before long it filled the bottom of the garden.but now today they have told me that i can keep it there as long as it is kept tidy.is removed if we ever leave, and the one that was in bold typing "does not get any bigger".so thats great news .however i am thinking of stopping now this year and training my youngsters to fly north for next season.my depleted team needs to be replenished also,so actually i am in the market for some good spinting stock which is what my team lacks.is there anyone else who is thinking of going back north next season.?

  19. hi paul.my youngsters are coming along nicely,my numbers are down a bit but the ones that i have will be more than ready to race by the time i have finished with them.its early days for me,as you know it can take a number of years to build a good racing team,we,ll get there.
  20. dover was a tough race for my birds.they came in 15 mins behind the leaders in our club, but on a plus side all except one have returned on the day.i am resting them next week because its a cross chanel race from lillers.some of them are only just turning a year old and i think that it would be better to save them untill their older next year.they will however be sent to the drop back race from newbury in two weeks time.it,ll also give me a chance to concentrate on my young birds and get them ready for the start of their racing.busy times ahead. :)
