  2. must have been watching which is quite scary.my neighbour has just told me she heard some banging around 1-00pm.she did not pay any atention to it because she thought it was me in the garden.we did not tell them we were going out because it was a spur of the moment thing.grrrr
  3. he said he was from cwmbran and was down here visiting family, enquiries have reavealed that no one in the street knows who he is,i should have known better than to trust them.to use a child in this is shocking.hope he calls around again.(evil)(evil)(evil)
  4. went out for the day today with the family and guess what when i returned home, noticed that the padlock was missing off my stock loft.two stock cocks are missing along with five sqeakers out of my young bird section.these birds were gifted to me last year by paul(strapper).their ring numbers are wales2008n16247/16246.i did have a visitor about 2 weeks ago a man who called himself simon and his son who was starting up with pigeons.i promised them some youngsters, the contact number they left is not connecting.i have called in the police.i,m gutted.
  5. its happened to us as well, when you answer you hear a ringing tone like as if you have dialled out, dont ask me how they do it but hang up immeadiately before the call goes through.
  6. i have been looking at the ways and methods of fanciers from the 50,s-60,s and have discovered that their methods were not that different to the present day.obviously the medicines and lofts were very different but the goals were the same.can anyone remember a partnership from the 70,s.they were 2 brothers called david and des gingell and used to fly under the name of gingell bros.they flew north road and south road and had quite a bit of success.sadly des gingell has passed away but david gingell is still alive although he does not keep pigeons anymore.

  10. i had one like that she died a few minutes after laying.vet told me it was probably caused by shock as she was a young hen but i,m not sure as the vet did not actually inspect the bird.
  11. yesterday (thurs) was the worst day i thought, had thin ice forming on water all day.today was a little milder.some fanciers have not seen their lofts for a few days.we have been lucky here in wales.
  12. thanks your a faster worker than me. ;D
  13. my title shoud read frozen drinkers.
  14. is anyone else having problems with drinkers freezing inside their loft.i,m changing water 4 times a day and finding the drinkers iced over each time.but the birds seem to be loving this crisp clear weather and exercised for nearly an hour today.its how winter should be though i think.
  15. i wonder what viagra would do for him.besides giving him a huge crop. :)seriously i cant think of anything you could give him.and how would you test his sperm count once you had given him something?i,m very curious. ;D ;D ;D

  17. dont give up hope,i have now had 25 out of 28 back.the ones that are coming in now are totally knackered but unhurt.i had another 1 back this morning,so as soon as the conditions are right hopefully they will start to work back to you.
  18. had another 1 back this morning(sun)totally flown out and messy but otherwise unhurt.3 missing now but they are late breds and i dont hold much hope of seeing them again.
  19. ther are now only four missing, the ones that are coming back have really worked and 2 have returned slightly injured(scrapes).
  20. as of 11.00am i now have 8 birds missing, they have been working back all morning, dropping in 1 at a time.
  21. i have room for 2 more pairs in my stock loft,1 pair will be kirkpatricks.as i am unfamiliar with the newer breeds what breed would you suggest for long distance flying.
  22. thanks.i,ll pm him and see if he can help.paul
  23. i would like to purchase a breeding pair of kirkpatricks.to introduce into my stock loft.if anyone can point me in the right direction i would be most grateful.
  24. im sure they will all return tommorow, look on it as a good inclement weather training session.beleive it or not they will learn from this.a night out on the tiles is a good thing and prepares them for the longer hard races.i have trained mine in the rainy misty conditions on purpose to force them to work and come through it.what they encounter on their way home from a race they will be better prepared for.
