i had a 2000 cock this year bred by mel coldingham raced well enough won a few minor races flew france 3/4 times without getting clocked ,broke his wing as a 5yr old ,8 weeks later won from 90 miles and 3rd fed ,but never bred anything worth tuppence ,so put him down this year to use his hen for another cock ,he raced in 2008 , a good friend of mine ( joe oribine of port glasgow ) won from sartilly 1st club 1st fed with a nine yr old cock 514 miles

  11. well done john ,hows the times eslewhere?
  12. it was jock alston that told me years ago that any wind with east in it is a dry wind and most birds will dehidrate quickly but west winds have more moisture in it and therefor better for the birds good luck hope you get a cracker.
  13. brian it was only n/e for a bit, easterly most of way ,but n/west winds there is no hiding place, just good honest pigeons win in this wind mate.
  14. spot on slinky ,BUT they have not had one on the nose this year ,so watch out for the non timers there will be plenty(on the night i mean). good luck to all birds should be away before 8am and winner doing 1080 ypm, jade there is no chance of birds doing 1200 in a n/west wind . unless your flying north road of course ,ps were at maidstone this weekend with the caladonian combine ,
  15. have a look at the bbc weather on here there is only a few showers on saturday ,showers wont stop them ,i would worry more about facing there first real test ( a head wind).

  19. thanx for that gareth a true gent , if he gets them registered if and when he losses some how does he get them back ,if you gte a su rung bird in and phone the shu office or letter them ,if they are not registered to anyone how do you get in touch with the owner?,as they are not reporting birds to any ex shu member who now is a member of rpra , ps gareth they wont transfer them to him from you as he is not a member of the shu ,ask the shu office and they WILL TELL YOU . AND BIGDA its 2009 rings he cant get registered so young bird racing has'nt started yet ,but not long to go.
