Just had a phone call from the clubs sec.to remind me that the AGM is tomorrow night then the subject was peregrines for the next twenty minutes.They are getting hammered with a large dark coloured hen along with another two lofts close to him.He said he's going to keep is birds in for a while to see if it will move on.

Good morning basic members.No cleaning out this mo,everything frozen once again.just on -7.c. on the gauge,fed and watered a few more eggs and peace and quiet in the loft.Coffee time.

Mine are cleaned out every time I go in the loft,I think it keeps the young birds tame,nest pans cleaned when the young birds are removed.

I've set clocks and done the papers for years,I DO NOT agree with doing clocks one hour after the first arrivals,especially with young birds,there are always late comers , if you are the only fancier at the loft the young birds shouldn't come home to a locked door.I don't fly to traps I fly to open door.There are members in our club who are seven mile as the crow flies from our club room ???.We arrange where pos. a time to suit most members.Never been a problem.Phone each other for water races so everone knows the score. I have three Blakes lofts,they have their fauls nothing too serious except the woods too thin,Would be far better making the back and sides out of 3/4" ply and the front something fancy if that's what you like.

Calcium tabs ,I always have them ,just incase.One down her throat she'll be up on the perch next day.If you were giving her grit when you took her away from her cock that would do the trick ,but as you said it took a week.I've also had a cock go off his legs ? same treatment,one tab. Lindsay

I had a bird like that some years ago,but it grew more in the center of the wattle,I cut it open with a one sided razor blade and a pea shaped growth popped out.The bird was out and flying within a couple of days,after a couple of week there was no visible sign of where the growth had been . Lindsay
