Unikon updates - It should be noted that there were "no security issues" with the previous versions. This update was solely for the purpose to facilitate the NEHU Z Five Digit Ring. It appears that this will not effect Scottish Unikon users. Therefore there is no need to update either the Unikon Professional or Champ pocket Clocks. What you can do is download the Unikon Manager Update if you want to register Polish rings.
-
It will update the software without removing any of the existing information. When you download the update just follow the insructions on your computer.
-
IF YOU GO INTO UNIKON DOWNLOADS ON THE UNIKON SITE, YOU WILL NOW BE ABLE TO DOWNLOAD THE UPDATED VERSION WHICH WILL ALLOW YOU TO REGISTER YOUR 2012 RINGS. UNFORTUNATELY, THE NEHU RINGS ARE STILL WAITING FOR A FURTHER UPDATE.

I brought up at a SHU Council meeting that the pros and cons of G.P.S. should be discussed by the Council and explained that I had already used Google Earth and G.P.S. to identify my loft position. After a lot of discussion, the SHU Council came to the conclusion that the SHU must once again embrace 21st century technology and agreed that the adoption of G.P.S. be a proposal from the SHU Council for the AGM and indeed it was duly passed unanimously at the AGM. Remember you must have two senior officials from your organisation to locate your loft with the G.P.S. unit and they must complete the correct form. You cannot use Google Earth printout to fix your loft position.

Phone UNIKON on 01775 717 177 and ask for the correct cable. Do not purchase any other cable as it will most likly not work. Once you receive the cable download the driver from the UNIKON DOWNLOADS SITE. You will find it will work perfectly after that. I do not know the cost of the cable.

YOU ARE RIGHT. NOW THAT HE HAS BROKEN THE SECURITY SEALS ON THE BASE UNIT TECHNICALLY THE BASE UNIT CANNOT BE USED. THANK GOODNESS HE DID NOT REMOVE THE SECURITY PLATE. IF HE HAD THE BASE UNIT WOULD HAVE BEEN RUINED. IF ANY ONE HAS A BASE UNIT THAT IS NOT YET 5 YEARS OLD AND THE LOW BATTERY WARNING IS FLASHING RETURN IT TO UNIKON. IF THIS OCCURS DURING A RACE PRESS THE GREEN OK BUTTON BEFORE THE BIRDS ARRIVE FROM THE RACE. PHONE ME ON 07766904506 AND I WILL GIVE YOU A LOAN OF A UNIT UNTIL YOURS COMES BACK FROM SPALDING. FOR GOODNESS SAKE, NOBODY BREAK THE SEALS OR THE HOLOGRAMS ON THE UNITS!
-
THE PEOPLE DEALING WITH THE CODE NUMBERS AT UNIKON IN SPALDING ARE ON HOLIDAYS UNTIL THE 10th JANUARY. PLEASE DO NOT PHONE TILL THEN. DOUGIE
-
CONNECT UP YOUR RING MARKER & CLUB BASE UNIT AS USUAL AND AFTER THE TIME IS SET, THE SCREEN ON YOUR BASE UNIT WILL SHOW A SERIES OF NUMBERS. PHONE UNIKON QUOTING THE NUMBERS. THEY WILL GIVE YOU THE ACTIVATION NUMBERS AND JUST TYPE THEM INTO THE BASE UNIT.
-
ALF I SPOKE TO UNIKON JUST BEFORE THE YEAR'S END ABOUT UPDATES AND WAS INFORMED THAT NOTHING WAS IN THE PIPELINE. DOUGIE.
-
Remember to phone Unikon on 01775 717 177 to obtain your 2011 Code Number for your Club Ring Marker. If you wish to administer any members clock etc you have to obtain this Code Number. Thank you. D. Bald Unikon Agent for Scotland.

Yes Ian, the Almond Valley transporter has a thermostat situated at high level and this switches on the discharge fan that in turn draws the hot air through tubes with holes drilled in them which are fitted above each line of crates. The air is drawn out and discharged at high level outside the transporter. The crates are also lined with corrugated cardboard which have a good covering of large wood shavings. As I stated previously, I have taken pigeons to France twice for Lanarkshire and Jim, the convoyer if asked, will tell you, that the shavings and the cardboard were in excellent condition, as were the pigeons after four days in the crates. The question of the heat through the plastic fronts is easily answered as the ventilated electric roller shutters are only lifted at the appropriate time before liberation. You must remember the Almond Valley transporter has a series of strip lights all the way up through the centre corridor allowing you to check the condition of the birds at any given time.

I personally believe the alluminium crates provide better conditions for the birds with the drinking access being the full length of the crates and the birds have the same access to the clean food. Surely this is better than food being thrown into the wicker baskets and pigeons soiling the food which in turn, they are eating. It has also been proven that the alluminium crates are 1" higher than the wicker baskets. Anyone doubting this should measure them for themselves instead of putting out the wrong information. I personally, have taken a transporter with alluminium crates and a proper water and feeding system twice, and in both cases including a hold-over the fanciers were delighted with the returns and condition of their pigeons.

Who Looks Like Winning The National Ffom Bovingdon ?
The Grass Cutter replied to blue63's topic in Race Day
Let's not forget how well Karen Newcombe has done. Not only is she fifth Open but I am led to believe she will have several pigeons winning prominent positions. -
Do not waste your time and efforts. Take my word for it and I should know. There are no grants being awarded in Scotland. The AWARDS FOR ALL it appears will deliberately allow you to apply knowing full well that the Final committee have been told not to give any Grants to pigeon organisations.

All Scottish Clubs using the UNIKON ANC RING MARKER (GREY RINGER) will have to have it updated. Log into www.pigeon-ets.com and click on Unikon-downloads. Scroll down to Unikon ANC System V.92 (UK & RO1) and follow the instructions. This should be done between 9am and 5pm as you will need a club registration number from the office in Spalding. Their 'phone number is 01775 717177

Theo does not have a massive loft like most continental fanciers. What he does have is a fantastic knowledge on racing pigeons. His father-in -law and his own father were top fanciers coming first and winning in races against tens of thousands of pigeons. His father-in-law was Ist from Orleans 120,000 birds, Theo was Ist Chantilly 22,000 birds and Ist Peronne 25,000 birds. Jocky Robertson who flies in the Pentland Fed against some of the best & most competitive fanciers in Scotland has had some great results with birds from Theo and Billy Fraser was also winning with them before he moved to Wales.
-
The famous Up North Combine fanciers, John Sunderland and Taylor and Ali have kindly each given the Almond Valley Fed. two young birds each which will be coming straight out of their stock lofts. Make no mistake, the chance to purchase these four youngsters alone, makes it worth your while attending the sale.

You do not have the correct version you must be using 1.422 Download 1.423 or use the new disc Club Manager 2009.

The only reason the LOTTERY turned down the LANARKSHIRE FEDS application was the fact it is a SCOTTISH PIGEON organisation. One pigeon organisation in Wales received £230,000 for two Transporters another £86,000 and only last month £52,000 was given to another Welsh Fed. Clubs and Feds in the NEHU area are all receiving grants. The Awards For All in Scotland have constantly refused Clubs and Feds by by asking them to amend the Application Form , this can happen 3 or 4 times, then in the end write to the Club saying they dont have enough members and refuse the grant. Contact your local MSP or MP to complain about the actions of the Awards For All and maybe LANARKSHIRE will have the Transporters for 2010.
