THE IDEAL THING IS..garden mines from the USA,for intruders,sheds etc,Kev a mate visited his girlfriend in flodida brought a magazine back. showing all these gizmo's,on sale..mail order!! you can fill em with paint/anything really,showed you a fella with overalls on standing on a mine in the doorway to the garage. the upward blast of the paint discharged..AWESOME,COVERED FROM HEAD TO FOOT,i kid you not.

let my greyhound ex track dog last thing before zzzzzzzzz in this weather( cold )she is usually out and in as soon as. 10 minutes had passed by she was still in the garden...STRANGE!!!! i went outside and she was to my astonishment shaking the hell out of this BIG pied rat. thats the first rat ive ever seen around here,as i have traps always set. never seen a rat with lots of white in its coat, wonder if it was someones pet that had got out.to late now tho'' well chuffed with my dog,as she is a big female,wonder how she got down to snaffle it. atb

when its diving/stooping on some bird,or on the prowl NEVER seen one on a roof or ariel,nearby tho. now that would be nice say no more!!!

are you bothering to do there survey??? how many wild birds visit your garden in a day. our lass has done it for the last 3 years. there questionare..with a picture of each bird,finch,sparrow etc. ie tick each box. easy for us to fill in....NONE and there is a comment box. enough said.

seagulls crows and maggies..odd ones now and again. aint seen a robin,thrush,finches,blue tits..since god knows see the old sparrow hawk tho

not in this weather cant beat a roaring hot log fire,glass of brandy etc,walking in the snow with my greyhounds. birds all contented,plenty of snap,no frozen water bowls. one thing tho my wild bird hoppers have not had a visitor for months, i filled then up with sneaky mix, same with the peanuts,binned them the other day. atb

my wife heard about this at work. Onions have been found to have properties that collect bacteria from its surroundings. There was a family which didn't catch a cold and they were asked the reason and the answer was an onion in every room, not peeled, and if you leave an onion in a freshly painted room it takes the smell out the room. The only downside is the danger from onions that have been sliced and left (even in a plastic bag) to be used at a later date, they can be highly poisonous because they gather up the bacteria. might just stick a couple hanging up in the youngbird loft...ybs Food for thought! atb stu
