latebreds out first light every day if ive got time racing hens out for half hour then racing cocks ive just fitted oil filled heaters in the stock lofts at the weekend ready for pairing stock birds last week in november if the weather ok i will build up the heat in the lofts before i put the birds in need to get some wee temp gauges for each sect study up on whos bred what on paper then get the stock hens ive picked into the nice warm lofts a few days before i bring in the cocks i want to pair them to both will be on hemp seed a few days before pairing then 1 oz of conditioner between them per day till they lay ive been putting a little anti cocci rearing pellets in my mix so il only treat for canker when there sitting about ten days thats the plan anyway see how it goes from there but the temp plays a big part in the hens laying or not

john i have neaver said that know all there is to know about vaccintion or vaccine breakdown in fact i know nothing about it all i know is what im told to do on the label and how the maff told us how to do it and thats all ive been trying to pass on m8 my original post on this subject was what happens when you put birds that have just been vaccinated in beside birds that have not and that was purely observation and like every one else on here i have an opinion and i base my opinion on what the people who make the vaccine are saying and passing it on to the guys that dont know and want to know and if i learn anything i like to pass it on so the novice can make up his own mind and not make the same mistakes i have but if i am causing offence to anyone it is not my intention and never has been people are looking for answers on why there birds are getting sickness and ive always given my honest opinion my advice is not for the guys that dont get ybs but is for the guys that do and have tried everything to avoyed it my advice to anyone that does not get it is keep doing what your doing as thats what id be doing john sorry if i upset you m8

hear is how i found my best breeders i made myself a 16 by 4 ft wide loft split into 5 small sections i then put the 5 best bred cocks in one in each sect then picked 5 hens to pair them to these birds were paired in december and alowed to rear the first pair the next pair are switched under feeders the hens removed and after 5 to 7 days 5 different hens are put in with the cocks by this time the yearlings are paired and the eggs from the 2nd lot of hens are switched or stored untill feeders are ready for them this was done 4 times with 4 differnt hens so getting 14 to 16 yb off each cock the yb are then trained hard and get every race as ybs and yearlings the cocks are then judged on the performance and no of ybs left from each hen and paired back to the ones that produced my best yb and that hen is then his mate for the next year then he is paired to the hen that he bred the best yearlings with if in 2 years breeding and about 30 yb from him he has not bred a winner or plenty very steady yb and yrl ready to go to nationals he is removed and replaced with another cock thus all my yb are bred from 5 cocks every year till i find the best mating they are then left together in another loft or they keep there small section for life this way you find find your best breeding pairs in two seasons breeding and lots of half bro and sisters to pair together when you find the top breeding cock this can be done with one or two cocks or more depending on your set up i have also used a bull system but ended up with not enough feeders to work this way and you start using racers that should only be rearing 1 or 2 getting used as feeders my way is easy to work if you dont have a feeder pair ready store the eggs till you do or they can rear them thereselfs with this idea i have 16 pair that breed winners and now every bird in the lofts are bred from them

im no saying anymore on this subject there is a big problem here and people are not admitting or refusing to see it so as far as i am concerned people are making this up as they go along as it does not matter what it is if you dont follow a manufacturers instructions your garntee is out the window so il do my way because i know its right then if i have a problem ive got a case imo
-
peter its there for all to see the manufacturers instrucktions are in the box with your vaccine cant understand why people are even arguing about this these are the people testing this stuff not the vet not the nurse next door not doctor van want yer money the people who make it say use contents when opened not can be put back in fridge f f k sake i give up
-
well done john good going in anyones book m8
-
wish i could do it its nice to see other peoples good doos
-
time for the cemetary when you start watching that stuff m8
-
should have explained better to johns post and i may be wrong because i dont pretend i fully understand myself whats going on with the vaccine situ but i tried the same thing when i jagged with a bottle that had been opened and kept in the fridge for 3 weeks then used it the birds were ok no reaction but when i jagged with a new unopened bottle the birds react to it this leeds me to think that the air had made the opened bottle inactive and thats why they dont react to it in any way because its not kick starting the parramixo antibodies in the birds allso there is no cross contamintion when your birds are not mixing with other peoples birds and the vaccine manufacturers are telling us it must be used when opened like i said i dont fully understand what is going on with the vaccine but i will keep trying different things till i learn more about it and i will get to the bottom of it
-
bet you jagged them with a bottle that had been opened john
