  2. read them all rooster and im not knocking it m8 i just found after about 20 years of study it proved nothing to me in my loft an interesting theory nothing more imo lol good one mick
  3. andy ive seen you getting some great results with your widowhood birds i fly natural and im interested in how you guys work it so here is some questions to get us going m8 first why did you choose widowhood as your method of racing 2nd does all cocks and breeds take to it or are some families better than others 3rd how do you pick a pooler with birds that should all be in the same condition 4th how do you train a widowhood cock 5 how do you stop them being bored and just homing how offten do you show the hen 6 how far do you race them out and when do you stop them 7 have you found it any different racing in to scotland than racing into wales ok andy that will do for now take as long as you like with each question m8 and guys no butting in till the mans done fire away andy
  4. dells a top class fancier andy and one id like to get some tips from m8 get him signed up lol
  5. oh i have a cause to dismiss it sammy as i was very much into eye sign in my youth and have won my fair share of eye sign classes and have had years compairing birds with so called eye sign to birds with no eye sign and found birds that have it dont breed any more winners than birds that dont and dont win any more races thats one point and a fact in my loft not a theory 2nd point is simple why are the eyesign men not knocking the s t out us if they can pick birds that can fire out winners why because they cant thats why next point the top so called eyesign men disagree with each other on which eyes are best how can you follow a theory that the experts cant agree on facts is what im looking for anyone can give you an opinion the word theory is nothing more than someones idea to explain something its not a fact its an opinion and opinions vary from person to person like i could say birds that have two white flights on the wing and a white spot on its head will fill your loft with winners has as much credence as saying all birds with green eyes breed winners i have watched pigeons that win lots of firsts in eyesign shows that have won nothing and breed nothing so someones getting it wrong and filling doo mens heads with unproven opinionated rubbish i can tell you which kind of eyes breed good birds in my family and if there healthy but cant say the same in anyone elses birds because all eyes can breed winners and all eyes can win races fact nottheory the basket tells me not the eye and the great jeff cooper after years of study thinks the same if anyone thinks because they win a few eyesign shows there going to have a loft of winners there in for a shock and that my opinion on eyesign a bit of fun in the winter and day out
  6. the reply was to you sammy who asked for my opinion and owens im not anti eye sign in any way and if you can pick out champion pigeons by looking in there eye i take my hat off to you i cant m8 and offten wonderd why the eyesign men that judge and win shows are not cleaning up in the racing but im allways willing to learn friend stb has stirred my interest again but again its theory not fact and its fact that pigeons with no eyesign can win and breed winners to thats all im saying sam and i ans the man by telling him rab stb was the best ive known atvb m8
  7. your welcome phil i dont like getting robbed ithere m8
  8. you can start by emptying your pm box andy full m8
  9. im off work this week to plenty time to think up some really hard ones lol only kidding andy

  11. philg spoke to louella this morning about the price of carriage this is from the horses mouth louella make no money from carriage and are constantly looking for better and cheaper courier here is some of the problems they have with couriers 1 they want a large order going to that area or lots of drop offs enroute before they are going to spend money on fuel and drive 14 16 hours 2 they want louella to hold the birds till they have a big order for one area louella need the sold birds out to make room and the fanciers want there birds now 3 couriers are not lineing up to do the job they all want the short deliveries with lots of orders to or on the way to the same area they dont want to deliver single orders that take a shift to get there takes lots fuel for little profit but louella will keep trying to find cheaper better couriers but where are they hope this helps explain the problems michaels had a few run ins with couriers that want the job but dont want the long runs and demand more money leaving louella and there customers in the lurch
  12. had wee problem last night will put andy on the spot tonight if he is able
  13. we all love our birds to handle nice and have a nice eye but many great racers and breeders just dont have that i agree with michael masserellla that its purely a family trayt and i know good fanciars that have tried breeding purely for a great handling pigeon that can win in the show pen but bred out the birds ability to win races which in my opion is first and foremost i would only advise a novice to breed for winning genes not an eye colour or a shape of pigeon if you have a loft of winners that all have great eyes and handle a dream your one of the few my family is not the prettyst and all shapes win along with every colour of eye i have birds with good so called eyesign that breed winners and birds with no eye sign that breed winners and this is what i base my opion on handling pigeons to see if there in form is a different thing alltogether the only type i breed for is the winning type and that to me is birds that win races not shows ive watched some of the worse fanciers that have won nothing in racing clean up in shows year after year but cant win a race its a theory and differs from man to man and a bit of fun in winter months 50 years in pigeons have taught me to breed for winning genes not eye sign or shape or my loft would be empty
  14. handling for form is very differnt from handling for shape peter all shapes win like wise all eyes can race well and breed winners thats what im saying and think owen would agree
  15. could not agree more owen
  16. thanks archie its my turn to ask him about his widowhood as the man can fly a pigeon and only a hand full of birds ill put him in the chair tonight lol
  17. stb on here knows his stuff m8 hes the best i know is our rab
  18. hope you have some luck with them m8 dont know if it could be that its another 5 or 6 hour round trip ones they get to scotland that there bumping the price up for but its deff got out of hand i dont think louella make anything off it but i could be wrong ill ask michael the next time i speak to him
  19. big dells alright tammy says what he thinks which i like unlike other sneaky bassas on here the stuff between andy and i is for the novices and to create a bit of interest on the site thats all m8 and gives us something to talk about other than the moaning and doom and gloom we get and if it helps anyone or guys just injoy the read then its worth doing
  20. i know that mick i was talking about michael lol
  21. nothing to hide and nothing to gain but ill stick up for any nice guy there getting few and far between now days mick he allways goes out his way for me and its nice to be nice but thanks for that pal glad to give a wee insight from his side and a man you can learn from
  22. the mans good to me andy there birds win thats all im interested in m8 payed plenty from others and done f all with them i get on well with him he even gave me a bird for our fed sale that made good money a nice man imo
  23. im winning with those very same lines mick zuster shlangen is lady wegans dam lady wegan bred 2 firsts and a 2nd national winners and is the dam of one of my old cocks when paired to her sire debarcelona bred some great birds for me m8 gave billy his half brother still filling eggs at 17 years old good luck with them mick there good birds m8
  24. got it in one tiger what i find is guys that have champion birds dont want to sell them and i dont blame them any bird you want at louella is for sale at a price and they need you to win with there birds or they dont sell and will go out of business and they have been doing it for years so plenty must be winning with them apart from me or they would be out the game imo ive heard the bad stories to but every business has stories of people not happy you cant please every one always someone not happy with something just have a look on here at the moaning lol there was a good example the other day on here when a guy was on about louella saying it would cost 75 pound to have birds del to aberdeen and where i agree the couriers rip us off that must be a 12 or 14 hour round trip from leicester it would cost about 50 pound on fuel on a moped lol so the guys driving for 12 or more hours for 25 pound and our scottish guys charge 30 to 40 pounds from edinburgh to hamiton but thats not louellas fault imo
  25. first and foremost its the way louella was breeding the jan aardens that i liked i allways liked inbred pigeons for breeding and louella pair them the same way i would andy champions to there sires dams bro and sisters daughters and sons i had bought six of the 120 pound yb for racing and flew well and had two firsts out the six and had 5 left the next year i bought 24 for racing no peds just jan aardens it was our fed centenary that year and all section winners got a silver medal i was 1st sect 3rd open with a louella aarden and as i had won with there birds the past 3 years gave them a call to let them know the birds were winning for me as i would if it had been anyone else that bred them credit where its due and it just so happend to be michael masserella that picked up the phone i had never spoke to him before it was always keith or an odd time john whom i always found helpfull and id heard a lot of other guys running louella down anyway i told michael that the birds id been buying the past 3 or 4 years had been winning well for me and was just calling to tell them so i told him id just been 1st sect 3rd open 6500 pigeons with one he was over the moon and asked if he could print that in his next advertisment of course i said you bred it he told me i was one of very few that botherd to let them know there birds had won and that when the fanciars buy them there there birds and very few gave the stud the credit for breeding them i told michael i was in business myself and id want people to let me know if my product was good he said i cant garentee that all the birds i sell are good birds but i can garentee that they have the blood of good birds in them i agreed and told him id phone him after the racing every year and let him know how the birds were doing result wise 3 weeks later i decided to move up the ladder a bit and buy a stock cock that was closer to the champions ilooked at the birds louella had in bhw that week and gave them a call it was michael again its mr boswell i said id like to buy a stock cock to go with the hen that won the section for me and i liked a few in the homing world but there a bit out my price range michael said he would recomend lot 4 a blue pied cock a dbl grandson of smarged one and vlekje yes i liked the look of that one but its 500 pounds ive only got 250 to spend just now thats ok he said its yours hes a nice pigeon with fantastic breeding i hand picked him myself that i showed the bird to my m8 billy 99 who said f k hes built like rambo and thats what i call him he has bred 8 firsts club 5 1st sections fed and i timed a son off him scoring in newbury national and he homed from clermont ripped to shreds this year anyway this was the start of my friendship with louella and michael i would call him and let him know how i was doing and wee would talk away all the time i was speaking to him i was asking about the breeding side of things he said his father told him never breed away from the good pigeon allways breed back to it untill you see weakness or there not doing the job then and only then bring in another inbred champion to cross this was the kind of thing i wanted to know i asked about eyesign he told me after handling and buying some of the best birds in europe and the birds that bred them he thought he would be seeing a pattern with the eyes but he never did so whats it all about then i said is there nothing in it ive seen champions bred from every kind of eye you have seen and now believe its just a family trayt same with handling sprint birds the jannsen family have what wee like to call good eyes and are nice in the hand some of the distance families are very disapointing in the hand and the aardens can be like that i know i said ive a loft of ugly buggers but can they fly he said thats the difference some of the uglyest birds ive seen and owned have been the best racers so that does not help when your trying to sell them everyone wants a winner with a good eye that handles great and a ped the lenth of your arm full of winners and thats what i try to breed but you still get wee ugly buggers and there usually the best i still talk to him when he has time and still learn a bit from him but at the end of the day hes a business man running 3 or 4 different things so i dont get to have a blether with him as offten as id like but he always takes time to get back to me if i call and the birds he personally looks out for me along with the birds he giffted me are breeding the goods so i have nothing but thanks for michael and louella and would advise any novice to save and buy the 10 latebred deal at the end of the year and fill your loft with yb off them and when you get a winner stop it and put it in the stock loft with the jan aardens the breeding side has all been done for you breeding dbl grand children off one champion to the dbl grand children of another champion is the best you can get and not costing an arm and leg works out about 300 pounds for 10 yb that will found a loft if looked after and dont worry if there ugly they can race like f k imo and thats what we want at the end of the day if there pretty thats a bonus this is what i would do if starting up again or if the birds i had were not winning andi knew i was working them
