  3. Congratulations on an excellent, in-depth and informative article. I look forward to part 2.
  4. A lot of lofts around Lanarkshire contained Willie Wilson blood and scored well with them. Robert Strachan, Dundee [ Willie Wilson's ex partner ] had quite a few in his team also.
  5. Yes, Willie Wilson. But this one is a tricky one - total guess Robertson of Cupar ???? PS - Blue Chequer Pied - a very good pigeon you bred for Davie Liddle
  6. Rowena
  7. Won Rennes, 1968 - Stranraer Simon
  8. The Swan ??????
  9. Because you've got a "sare heed" you put up a trickier one Duncan Ogilvie's Mary ?
  10. Quite a coincidence John Harwood writing about Bainton & Son in this weeks BHW.
  11. Happy birthday lads , a particular mention to JSD .......BIG 60 for the double Gold Cup winner
  12. Absolute class family of pigeons, visited him 1983 after being so impressed with a photograph of Lyrona Producer in a Joe Murphy article. Certainly lived up to my expectations.
  13. Thanks, will be of interest to a lot of members.
  14. It was a very good race. Clocked 9.10 pm but race finished about 8.30 pm in the east. Not many birds won gold awards competing in 5 Rennes races some going - even in the glory years.
  15. All crackers, would be interested to see photograph of this years section winner from Gold Cup if possible.
  16. It's better than watching the telly
  17. The 1982 Gold Cup winner, Liddle Supreme making Jack Wylie one of the elite band of 4 to win the Gold Cup twice.
  18. Thanks Alec.
  19. Rooster, do you have any photographs / articles on Bainton & Son of Wimborne, Dorset. I had a Pictorial printed late 70's on this partnership. At that time my father and grandfather were alive and the pigeon papers would be passed round. Anyhow this Pictorial was lost. Bainton & Son had a fantastic record at distance racing - if my memory is correct they had 32 old birds in the loft, 28 of which had flown at least Pau. Incidently Dennis Dall brought in a Bainton cross with great effect.
  20. His dam was the Grove hen ??
  21. A right one for Mr Hodgson
  22. Glad you think it's a bit easier need a wee clue ?
  23. Only 1 pigeon clocked north of the Forth in first 49, a strong performance from the west section lofts
  24. Definitely top quality doos
  25. Initially thought it was Eddie Newcombe's hen Delorna, but he never used nest pans. Will go for Fear Brothers hen, can't remember her name but it starts with H ????
