Strangely enough Brian, I was handling my YBs and Yearlings on Wednesday, marked down some thoughts, and went back into the house to look at my records tracing back the parentage. It was unbelievable the number of lines that stopped at SNFC Marlborough 2011. I lost 8 pigeons at that one race including 04 06 07 08 pigeons that had all scored at over 200 miles. Just shows the effect one bad race (for me at least) can have on years of breeding, if like me you don't have a stock section.

Now I know how to contact you can you look up your records for a GB11X that arrived as a stray and to me and you transferred to me. I bred two nice youngsters from him and he survived the old bird programme despite a badly glued broken 3rd end flight. His full number is GB11X07239 and I would like to send you a pair of youngsters bred to either middle or long distance. Let me know your thoughts. I seem to remember you had bought this bird in but you could not tell me from whom. Tom

I told you I was going to test Murphy's brothers and sisters. 2nd Fed is a half sister, (as is 30th Open Maidstone) 3rd 30th 38th are full brothers/sisters and are at Leicester along with another 2 from the same family I kept back last week. AND there is a baby getting rung tonight (certainly a pied- probably blood red) for the Midlothian Fed Sale on the 23 September at Easthouses Miners welfare starting at 1.30

Nah she was my last bird today 9/9 today, started with 19 only dropped 3 and one was my fault. I have to say well done Peter and I east coast is fine by me.

Thanks guys. But will save the plaudits until after the stewards enquiry regarding distances. I know there is 3300 yards in difference between my Selby and Bubwith distances and suspect there are some wrong distances being used by other clubs.

Surely it's to do with how thick/intelligent the bird is. I have several pigeons from the same red cock but different hens all of which are reds or red pieds with the occasional ch pied. It's amazing the difference in their behaviour in feeding, trapping, adjusting to changes, stamina, flying speed and vitality. If all these differences can be seen in these half siblings what difference does colour make. Incidently YB training is going great with only non reds/red pieds falling to wires so I suppose these injured ones must be at the back of the group and too slow to react to the cables. So far Percy does not feature but there again I do not train or fly my young birds before 19.30hrs - yes when yours go to bed mine go out to an empty sky.

Do you know if we are getting a Fed result Peter? or was there an issue with clubs not sending in returns.

Well done John Smith 1167 YPM I believe you could well be in the top 5 in SNFC. If you had talked to the Doo instead of me on the phone I think you would have been even further up the sheet. Good season john- hope it gets even better over the channel.

You made a mistake Andy. You should have sent some sacrificial white ones if you were only tossing penny numbers.

My birds get one a week during breeding and racing and they are still rubbish - I know that at certain parts of their cycle they go to the privet hedge or the moss on the roof or god forbid the rhones. Since I stared feeding lettuce there has been no more naughty behaviour. For the last six years they are either in the sky or in the loft.
