  1. the only thing i see by having all the birds from one place i would not pay for entry to an unknown bird if i was to enter i would want to send a home bred bird that you know has a chance rather than a bird you know nothing about .
  2. had a sh hit my old birds today had one pinned down next to the road ran out shouting and making a lot of noise sh let go and flew BANG into a passing car ;D ;D ;D oh and the bird didn`t have a mark on it .
  3. you quite often see his name come up in the severn valley results.
  4. yes thats correct he flys with the malvern 2 bird club same as pete and sue smith and the rpra one loft manager 2 name 3 that i know of . oh mark your traps are ok if you have a loft that you can fit them in like that mine are on the doors so you would not get into loft if the pad was fitted like yours .
  5. the 2 white blocks are where the birds land on the outside one and the inside one is where the bird walks over to get timed in b4 they go through bob wires into the loft if the rpra don`t allow this type as they were leagle last year then they aren't going to see anymore of my money david bills as a flyer himself should see the implications that this new rule is going to do to the fancy all i could say is all traps installed after 31/3/2010 should complie to new rules all traps before should still be used as they were complieing with 2009 rules.
  6. slightly off topic but i did read that someone was taking their local council to court after attacks on his birds from percy on a council building does anyone have anymore info on this maybe its the way forward to sue them and they wont allow more sites it we can win against them.
  7. thanks kirky yes i like my loft front open 24/7 thats why i use the lights instead of darkness.
  8. if you can get electric in your loft fit a light on a timer so they get 16hrs a day of light i do it every year and the birds hold out to the last race .
  9. mine is open with overhang stays dry better for the birds in my view . if you do have open front with dowels put some small wire over them keeps stoats weasels and rats out .
  10. just been on mnfc and put the first number in their stray section but nothing coming up on there tells you to report to the rpra.
  11. the rspb say the european eagle owl has no place in the uk but correct me if i`m wrong isn`t the uk part of the european union so surley that means the owls have a right to be here too.
  12. bred in may go all the way.
  13. our trainer charges 20p per bird you need to find some clubs that fly north so you can do a return trip with birds rather than drive back empty our bloke brings bristol birds to cheltenham then takes our birds back to stroud or bath .
  14. mine will fly all inland if their up to it and the 1st channel race 230 miles then after that the rest of the inland .

  16. there was something on the news not so long back that a man jogging was attacked on the head by a buzzard.
  17. very clever birds are buzzards on the factories when the sea gulls have young the hen will fly over the nesting site and the gulls can be seen chasing her away while they are busy with her the cock comes in and helps himself to the young in the nest .
  18. you can put the life ring numbers in your base station at home but the ring will need the club system to assign it to that bird as you need the club disc to allow it .
  19. maybe a double yoker
  20. anywhere like countrywide or farmers outlets should have it in .
  21. i use lamb colosterum its just the same add to water but i find it better for the birds as little lactoes content in sheeps milk .
