having put most the youngsters on the grass today in 2 baskets ,gave the section a good clean .left the 6 i put in on Friday and 1 bred for us added Sunday walking about me as i cleaned (most still have yellow down on there heads) .almost finished and woosh 1 of them decides go for a fly ,landed on a neighbours shed ,then off into the sky on a nearby house roof where it stayed for 10 minutes before dissapearing .thats lost i said to myself . told Babybird when home from work , i had lost a youngster , 1/2 an hour later it appears on the loft , tried in vain to get it to come down ,it landed in a hanging basket ,where i caught it and placed it back in . amazing as it had only been weaned over a few days and not been out at all

first chance to put the youngsters out today . put 2 baskets on the grass ready ,reached up on top of the box perch for clip rings ,not there ?? round in circles looking for them , i was sure i put the new bag of 100 up there ? squeezed myself between stock and race loft 14" gap ,looked around back of loft ,they were there , scattered on the ground only a 10" gap between back of loft and our 6ft panel fence ,picture the scene ,me horizontal wedged between loft and fence trying to pick them up .what a tale eh

odd spot of rain here , but had 2 lots out .

been a good day over here TOOSHY sent all i could training tonight , most home safe from 5 hens and 16 cocks ,although 2 late breds and a 2 yr old cock adrift ?? hopefully they will show in the morning .

found the "crow decoys" not bad.we have about 3 pairs visit our garden daily , they have been stripping the "coir lining" on the back wall from an old horse feeder that Babybird had planted up
