  1. its on the drive now
  2. you would be welcome Martin , i am sure Babybird wouldnt charge much for the fayre
  3. understand that fully Wattie ,i am a bit limited on space now , looking to reduce numbers too. saying that i do need to test all off spring ,will try a pair so at least i have some unit of measure . i have 2 cocks and a hen off this original cock ,they were flown back in Wales and won or carded .last year all bred card winners here .for the future i am looking to produce the same or for the future to have half brothers and sisters to pair to existing stock (the dam is 9 year old now , and only occasionly laying) would dream of having some quality like that pal.
  4. will do
  5. when i read the holiday brochure from the "Naturists society" ,this is not what i had in mind when i was thinking of a "bare behind"
  6. thanks Mr Bear , are you sure this is the only place i can get reception on my mobile ??
  7. i hear a song coming on
  8. i put the bowls in after 5 days of them running together . like you ,after cleaning the bowls ,i dont want them soiled again before they are ready to go to nest.i go for 5 days , because ive had and do have hens that have or do lay after 5 days (althought the majority take longer)
  9. it was good advice Tam , we go and visit a cousin of mine on the Saturday night when in Blackpool ,he stays at the same hotel we used for 3 years along with a coach party from North Wales .after hearing of the better quality at only a little more than we paid previously (the wives) were especially interested in the Big Blue .the only negative piont for them was the distance away from the winter gardens , but as i said "its one weekend a year ,get a taxi or tram" saying that Babybird takes the car ,so its 2 minutes drive away
  10. Big Blue for us , quality and comfort at a reasonable price .have stayed close to winter gardens before but wasnt the best .
  11. i do similar with Babybirds "white doos" leave them together all Winter , but shut the boxes up. done just to keep management to a minimum . never thought to do the same with my stock or racers tho ??

  18. and a further question Lindsay ,i know we are different creatures to pigeons ,but when prescribed antibiotics by our G.P./ Doctor ,when the course is complete does he then suggest we eat whole some yoghurts or take multi-vitamins to increase our inner bacterial strength ?? p.s. i think i know the answer
  19. cool but dry here
  20. morning all
  21. ive had an "old hand" show me this method John , but didnt know wether it was influenced by the man "like the needle over the egg" routine predicting wether it was a cock or hen within ??
  22. anything left off that line now ??
  23. thanks for your view John , its also much appreciated .if i can pick up on one part inparticular " replicate the bird " ,this will be the aim with the offspring , and hopefully they will do well in the race basket ,which is my desired ambition . however , there wouldnt be a problem with a 3rd round ,and putting these aside may help me longterm as future stock ,thank you. both above views seem a good plan to me
  24. i have been through all my listed race birds , to see what family , pair or ,line they are off , happily most are off stock ,or grand-children of , so cant be happier . i am just trying to (without a crystal ball) see which are the absolute best from which .hopefully when the season ends i wont get shut of the wrong stock pairs or will know by putting sons/daughters or grandchildren to stock i can continue what i have started
  25. very true , heres hoping , in time, he will find them out , and produce a winning team eh
