  1. Frank---any in Section F
  2. Personally with the weak pound I think there is better value available from British companies. Try Bamfords or Crowthers. Continantals have been ripping us off for years.
  3. Cheers Alan. When all else fail write it down and I will read it. All the familiar names seem to be to the fore. Well done
  4. Your vet should sell it to you if it is needed. It is also sold under the name of Ornicure. I believe this is manufactured by a branch of the Versa Laga group.
  5. With the type of racing we are experiencing we send on the fit birds some of which do well and some go down. At the end of the season we are left with a high percentage of birds which have been injured. We are unsure how this injury will effect the birds future performance but next years team consists of a disproportionate number of these birds which carry war wounds.
  6. There are only 2 on libline but the last update was 21:25. The coalburn pigeon is on and one at 20:25 to a Mr and Mrs partnership. Sorry I am not sure of their name or location as I am corn beef but the quoted time of 20:25 is correct.
  7. Some good advice but I will tell you the best piece of loft equipment you can buy for occasions like this is a hammer. The cat may return and you must be prepared.
  8. Grey and overcast in Ayrshire. No sun visibly yet. Wind so light I didn't notice a direction.
  9. I appreciated that comment ;D
  10. As far as reduced birdages this weekend are concerned I think some fanciers will have taken the forecast into account and simply decided that the should not subject their birds to a protracted stay in crates before release almost 600 miles from home. They will have only entered reduced teams.
  11. I worked in a plant which manufactured bleach and it must be treated with respect. It is a toxic chemical. I avoid it at all costs. Without looking at a book to confirm this I believe mixing it with cider or any other vinegar----all vinegar is basically acetic acid--will liberate free chlorine which is toxic. To the guy who syringes it over the throats---I wonder if he would perform even better not doing this?
  12. I understand and agree. When I said longer inland races I meant even races from 30th May. We were at Leicester that weekend and losses were about 30% for most federations. I am sure a few 500 mile candidates were amongst them. This was a poor weekend for most.
  13. Some of the longer inland races have been difficult this year with birds returning well flown or not returning at all. Losses and birds which do not recover in time must effect the birdages at the 500 mile plus races.
  14. I have very few dealings with the RPRA. but I believe they supply measurements free of charge. That is a very big positive particularly when we change several racepoints each year.
  15. He lives between Coatbridge and Glenmavis.
  16. When I have mine on open hole I find that I have more attacks from the sparrowhawk. But Yes the birds are more streetwise.
  17. If I am in a dream world you are a total *expletive removed* who is incapeable of reading english and understanding. Avoiding racing when they are feeding young is not a time of day thing. It is a period of several weeks. If there are no pigeons available they will eat song birds and decimate that population. I hope I have made that sufficiently clear for even a mental retard like you
  18. Excellent flying.
  19. They should sit there all night unless they are frightened. Best just leave them till morning. We have all been there. There is nothing you can do. (or doo)

Does this mean the Hotrod /Bigda young bird swap is off ;D
  22. We don't really need to stop completely. We just need to be selective about when we race. We need to avoid the times when they are feeding young. The racing season can be condensed into a few weeks by having weekend and mid week racing running concurrently. The mid week racing will do away with the need for training.
  23. I bred 65 for myself and at the last count had 58 remaining I know I have lost a couple to Percy with early morning flights and some visit a neighbour.
  24. There are at least 3 good studs in Ireland that I know of and numerous class fanciers. I would only consider buying Irish Pigeons to fly into Ireland. Horses for courses.
  25. Sorry they are too fast---we are looking for parents to take about a week to home ;D
