  1. I have the mail and yes I did leave a comment on the web site. Yes a more accurate link would have been helpful but I got there in the end. Before posting I would also have liked some more background information which meant I would have been posting from a position of knowledge.
  2. Great Offer Joan
  3. Price per basket then deduction of expenses and any cash left over distributed between feds pro rata to birdage. All we need to do now is convince the members and AGREE a race program.
  4. Absolutely ideal. Pick up on the way down then straight down the M6. A return to sanity.
  5. Very valid point Sammy. Such a venture would need to be organised on a democratic basis with all organisations involved. All members would pay the same birdage and have the same benefits. I see where Lanarkshire would be expecting to have a bigger say in events as they have , by far , the biggest birdage.
  6. Bary- it's not fair to compare UNC racing with ours. They fly over a different terrain up the east coast. Their birds don't need to turn into the prevailing wind and fly through the hawk infested valleys which we do. I agree that smaller feds come off worse in clashing situations but whether with a fed or Amal the trick is to avoid the clashing. This is done by staggering the racing over the days of the week or choosing a less congested route. Obviously I would support such a venture but do not see it as the ultimate answer.
  7. In addition to anything else it does it supplies the birds with trace quantities of Manganese.
  8. Best visit their web site for that
  9. Sad News. R.I.P.
  10. I used them last year but now work on the same principles using an alternative to Cool Racer.

That may just mean that they become further off course before they realise they have made a mistake.

    Latebred Sales

To the best of my knowledge about £5400. The final winning bids are on the web site for anyone who is interested and is good feedback for vendors.

    Latebred Sales

Never mind any more sales this year. Wait for the Ayrshire one next year and enjoy the soup again.
  16. I attended this sale which was the most professionally run pigeon auction I have attended. Obviously a great deal of thought and effort went into this from the committee. I would just like to say a very well done to all of them. Even the food was great.
  17. I thought so as well Baz. Particulary since the bird was so wet it just did not want to trap. Great day out today by the way.
  18. I see there is a pigeon in Largs at 13:23. It may not be challenging the winners but a very brave pigeon in these conditions.

    Lambrechts Wanted

Go to the Ayrshire Federation web site and to the latebred sale. Lot 55 is a stock pair of Lambrechts.
  20. Pictures like the attached are exactly what we should be sending to MSPs high;ighting just how contrary to nature the RSPB really are and also highlighting the safety concerns associated with a hungry bird of this size in a populated area.

    Todays Returns

No Ayrshire finished the season with a stinker. Most birds which homed had been soaked at some point. Many fanciers never timed.
  22. It's a long winter with dark nights. Plod away at it and you will get there.
  23. Not the one you are thinking of but his son also William Miller races with Clyde Coast Club.
  24. I need to agree the Ayrshire site is very professional and very informative especially for members of that federation. Praise indeed to Jim and the committee.
