  1. There is your answer Rikki--sending pigeons to racepoints and releasing them into temperatures of 5 degrees in a North Easterly wind will always increase losses and injuries due to exertion. Admittedly racing from the east in an easterly wind would have reduced losses. There is no guarantee what the wind direction will be when the race program is accepted but what we actually need is a more flexible progran at the early stages choosing east or west to suit the wind direction. Sensible fanciers do not compete when temperatures are as low as they have been this year.
  2. I am always chilled.
  3. I doubt that considering the date has been set for the Ayrshire meeting
  4. The program is as passed at the AGM. The meeting to discuss a possible change has not been held yet.
  5. Harry very sorry to hear of your sad loss. May Bob Rest in Peace.

Excellent post and in addition, if the Mr Mc Ginlay is the gentleman I think you are referring to- yes he may be a bit disillusioned now but if you check his track record you will find that he has done more for the sport in his various capacities than most.
  8. And also in Ayrshire

Ayrshire also have birds in this convoy but I doubt if there will be more than 100 birds total.
  10. Very well done to you and your dad.
  11. Just a point I was wondering about- suppose the secretary is convinced that he acted correctly and within his remit DOES HE HAVE A CONTRACT OF Employment?
  12. There are 2 Mr. Jamiesons from Maybole both of whom fly pigeons. The other is Archie's son Brian. He visits this site occasionally.
  13. RIP John.
  14. Quality post right to the point. Everyone is having a difficult season
  15. Brian, I think that is to be expected. Your returns are much better than mine though. This is the biggest shambles I have experienced in all my years of pigeon racing.
  16. They (he and Albert) flew very well at one point in time.
  17. What were you feeding for 323 miles?
  18. Thoughts with you Harry. A very sad time for you. R.I.P
  19. Exactly the place you are visiting tomorrow.
  20. Definately difficult for Ayrshire. I have 6 home but no fancied birds and even the first had been down for a drink. Maybe a case of charge down the road and chuck them up.
  21. Very sad news RIP.
  22. Ayrshire federation postponed 24 hours

It's early days yet. Maybe the stigma of the last disaster we had from Lockerbie and the fact some are still rearing young may also be factors.

Bad decision Friday night coupled with anti west politics. Very bad
  25. Do you think there is any significance to the heavy down on the head? I would be interested to hear views on this.
