  4. i havent Les but surely a better way of giving it to them as they wouldnt eat if not nessasary , many years ago neighhbours had a goat and when they got rid of it they throw away the salt licks birds loved that as well , whats it called and who makes it ?

  10. i have to agree that hens are achieving more than cocks in results take the U.N.C last season 6 winners only 2 cocks and 4 hens , but who said because there hens they have to be natural hens ?

  13. he was a good honest bird and over worked but i was young and eager , he could of achieved far more if managed better he raced every week from the off till i retired him even sent him a fortnight after winning Bourge512 miles to 420 miles he was 6th club , me new favourate pigeon is his son :
  14. you mean the pigeon 'Old Yellow ' he won 4th wanstead flats , 1st Bourge 512 miles as a 2 year old only bird on the day in club , 2nd Bourge 512 miles as a Yearling he scored at 3 out of 4 channel races 2 years running then put to stock he won me the combined adverages 1st year and highest prize winner and the channel adverages year after ( i didnt send to one yb race ) or he would of done same again also was highest prize winner in club that year

  22. 'Old Yellow' my favourate pigeon , the best i have ever owned and raced
  23. have seen it with young birds , sometimes you have to work out what went wrong , flying ybs with old hens after weaned the old birds know where home is and can take young squeakers that arent settled up and away and gone as struck up too soon , some just dont have the love of home or have the call of the wild or no brains either way i'd split pairings and try a different pairing
  24. i once noticed a yb was looking a bit down and when i let him out he went straight to a hawthorn bush and started eating the berrys so i got my son to pick them and put them in a pot in loft needless to say they eat the lot , obviously the bird was getting what he needed at the time and what nature was providing , i have no idea at ivy berrys but if pigeons eating them then shouldnt do the birds any harm eating them
