  1. quite simply weather related no need to look for any other reason imo , birds made it home , if looking for any other reasons is this too many small concerns and clashing , im sure if organisations came together more and went down road together be a lot less birds lost
  2. I know in past this subject always tends to have a 50/50 split in opinions , i've always used electrolytes on return , here a valid point i'd like to get across , first two races I flew this season I believed the birds weren't watered properly and were looking for water on return , other than a few that came back a little later with grey silt on there legs these are birds that haven't previously been down before . Well where we fly the birds either come over the Humber online or they go inland and round , the Humber water is brackish and contains less salt than sea water , why would thirsty birds want salt ???? obviously to take on fluids and put there body back to balance or perhaps they were lacking salt to start with and couldn't store water because of the lack of salt in there diet been present
  3. 3 cocks missing and 3 hens from Saran 445 miles
  4. if cuck-coos lay 20 eggs a season and half of them are successful we should be over run with them !!!! just shows the mismanagement by the R.S.P.B

  7. Good advice I stopped worrying about having a so called strain years ago , buy good birds from proven birds look for individuals rather that a quick fix when you buy several in quality will always beat quantity check the results trace the owners have a chat , visit if possible and if you think you can trust them part with your cash

  19. yes they serve a purpose for jumping candidates in to selected races sometimes there not well thought out , we have a Billerclay next week then Reed then the big one at Bourge , shame it weren't Reed then Billericlay as some have fresh birds to put in which would be more birdage for convoyer which in turn would make more birdage for following race
  20. pretty much same here more training for me than racing but if have darkness ybs then certainly worth a go at to get an edge also will help hens out as im not a big lover of ybs laying eggs which they certainly do the earlier bred they are
