Worming For Pigeons:What'S Your Experience With Wormout Gel?
OLDYELLOW replied to vivi's topic in Products & Medication
Easiest method is tablets , read the instructions , some require 24 hours without food to ensure treatment is effective , this will kill all alive worms but will need repeating in 10 days ( the worm life cycle ) Harkers Harka-Verm Tablets would be my choice http://www.bleefe.co.uk/www.bleefe.co.uk/info.php?p=2&pno=0 -
Quite agree look at the attendance of Blackpool 100,000 = 600 signed a similar petition , we are our own worse enemy time fer the union to grow a pair and organise us cos we certainly aren't fit to do it ourselves
-
Here this may be the way to go with a .gov petition then it's in the face of those who can make a change : http://epetitions.direct.gov.uk/

If we go back to when wild birds song birds were in abundance BOPS were in relatively low numbers and endangered and quite rightly put on protection , yes there's lots we could do to help the wild bird and song bird populations like growing more hawthorn hedges and planting more broad leaf natural species of trees namely beech oak ectra and ensuring all chimneys are capped reduction in corvids carrion and magpies , getting milk delivered the blue tit used to take the cream from the milk each morning , but this won't help until the BOPS are controlled back to suitable numbers so whatever angle is taken the goal has to be the reduction in BOP numbers and this will only be achievable by the help of the general public on our side no matter how it's put pigeons aren't endangered now and wont be in another 100 years , however in the next 20 years many of the common wild birds and song birds will be long gone , the once abundant house sparrow has seen the biggest decline , the reason is the sparrow hawk this is the biggest reason the sparrow hawk has moved on to bigger prey been mainly pigeons , no point in going down a road that's going nowhere what we need is action to create reaction , what a site would hundreds of fed wagons bringing London to a stand still would have , along with a spokesman who has a vast knowledge of facts and figures to back up our plight who could act as our voice spokes person to get our plight raised in order to bring about change in the archaic protection bill to species that aren't in decline or in endangered numbers .

Yup am quite happy with the song bird angle on my facebook wall there's a photo of a green woodpecker killed by percy yup these are on the red list pigeons will never be on any red list and there numbers are boosted each year by us the fanciers , petitions have been done = nothing has happened , perhaps if the message was clearly under the noses of the pm and mps and disruption to London occurred ( which would cost millions of pounds even worse if done in Olympic games and would reach a higher profile, then and only then would we be actually heard , as long as pigeons aren't endangered then the argument for protecting the vast numbers of pigeons is going nowhere , I'm actually trying to help rather than be a sheep and follow I'll try to give a cause worth following

There's sites that have been on go for many years such as save our song birds , this angle is far much better no-one gives a dam about our pigeons there called rats with wings to the general public , do you think a 5 year lock up would stop fanciers flying there birds out or stop racing the answer is NO , as long as we race and breed prey for bops then we are our own worse enemy's . How do you raise the profile of our plight simple wild birds and song birds , these aren't been bred and released in huge numbers by anyone nor are the wild birds producing significant to repopulate against the killing machine of bops , it is of my opinion the only way to get the government to notice is this send every federation wagon down to London and bring it to a stand still protest outside number 10 at the injustice of protecting bops over many red listed species then we might get somewhere , even the governments hired commercial van billboards to get there message across we could do the same , bit of money and plenty of coaches organised this could even make the news , but I tell ya this not one person will agree , it's a case of i'm alright Jack i'll sit on my hands someone else will do it for me , this hobby is full of this type of person , these are the ones that tend to blame others of cheating or using drugs or generally slagging over fanciers because of there success and there lack of it , where a dying sport and most bits are already non responsive and dead

weather wise been very lucky with the mild weather , last 3 days have had frozen water weren't as bad today just a pain I'm feeling well enough to do a few jobs and weathers not fit to do out in , just one of them things lol
-
also try reclamation yards some get new ones in that are seconds always use another barrier under these such as a wood roof and felt as they will sweat when frozen leading to wet / damp loft conditions , you can get insulated sheets these I believe don't sweat like the single skin sheets
-
Can't wait until this cold snap goes am bored , lots to do but can't do out want to get the never ending list of jobs done roll on summer

they need grit and minerals in front of them at all times especially during rearing , they use the grit to grind the feed to get the nutrients out of it the grit dissolves over time minerals and calcium is extracted this is what the young birds are lacking hence there pumping them up with water in a vane attempt to fill them as there under nourished
-
is grit and minerals in front of them at all times ?????
-
give them a bath , or remove the product in the water

Totally wrong angle save our pigeons I'm sure we all can breed enough each year to feed bops and there will still be an abundance of ferals , now if was British wild birds / song birds then it would be worth while as no one to my knowledge is breeding these in great number but there numbers are decreasing rapidly because of the over population of BOPS
