South road, 1st race 1st club , 3rd fed ,1250 vel . 2nd race , 1st club , 3rd fed 2250 vel. Widowhood cocks had 2 tosses before first race, widowhood hens had no training before there first race on the north road ,they went every week , only two weeks on whole programewas,nt in fed result. I could go on , April and may is when I have most of my good performance,s

My doo,s have been locked up since the end of september and won,t get out till end of feb / beginning of march, i have done this for as long as i can remember and can,t say its ever done them any harm. jmo

I usually pair up the second sat in december no matter what the weather.Everything going to plan youngsters are split end of jan beginning of feb. They are put on to the darkness 18.00 to 9.00 am till the mid of june , They will go through a full body moult but should not drop flights. I also feed a high protien young bird mix till training starts .

During the winter i do everything myself, my wife helps me during the old bird season with me working most saturdays and my 12year old girl looks after the youngsters during the young bird season. Family affair.

No mate, i,ve never tried it. I prefer just to keep them going.

No mate a race a sort of roundabout system hen,s north , cocks south , I keep some spare cocks for the hens ,with the hens usually being home first ready for the cocks , saying that I let them pair up the week before frazerburgh, I think I was third fed . Thurso was the high point of ma season tho 1st & 2nd fed .

Had a quite a good season on the north road myself this year, and on the south with ballochmyle , haven't decided if I,ll race north next year and just concentrate on the south , east or west .

its no that simple , It all boils down politics in the doo game , the strathcylde amal was a great thing as far i remember and would like to see something similar again. The main problem when you have 5 small feds and 1 big fed the big fed just starts to take over and then spits the dummy when there proved wrong when it comes to costs and transport etc.

imo i don,t think it,s as high on most fanciers agenda as you want it to be , you can,t force members to go to a race.

Could it be anything to do with , 1/3 members don,t have the doo,s to compete in all channel races and have become more sprint to mid distance minded.
