Egg binding can be caused by lack of calcium. As stated bring them into the warmth. Do not try to force the egg out. When I bred budgies it was much more common. What I did to rectify it was to give a calcium supplement directly into the crop via a crop tube. I would then heat olive oil and work it into the vent (gently) and then leave it overnight in a cage near the radiator in the shed. In the morning without fail the egg was in the cage and the bird ok. If you leave it untreated the bird could suffer a pro-lapse which at best ends it breeding and at worst kills the hen. Try these steps and the bird should be ok. Give the birds some cod-liver on the corn along with a calcium supplement. Cod-liver oil is high in vitamin D which is vital for calcium to be absorbed into the blood stream. Best of luck. Paul.

I agree 100% with this. I am all for the moderators being paid but no back-handers. The guys who just come on to sell well that is fair enough as well. They will contribute little anyway and £25 is nothing charge them a commission and you can do so on a sliding scale so the big earners pays more than the guy who sells half a dozen latebreds to cover corn bills. Chris, Thanks for the invite but I have to decline your offer to be a moderator because I personally have no interest in it. I think you have made a serious error in judgement in this case and it would be easier to admit you are wrong than to defend a poor decision. If the mods want to sell make them pay the fee. If you want to pay them pay them. I have no problem with that what so ever. I do however have a problem with under-handed practices under-taken by some who would preach they are whiter than white and only moderate for their own gain. This reeks of MP's expenses in my view. You mention my staff ( which has SFA to do with this by the way) , what I wouldnt do is offer them a wage and then tell them they could help themselves to company property to top up their wages to make the reward fit the job they did.

Why dont you cut out all the preferential treatment, do away with gold membership and charge everybody that sell a commision % like any auction. All above board, nothing to hide that way the site gets return for everybody advertising and everybody knows where they stand. Better that than creating and old boys club.

You cannot charge some members and not others. If you do that you will create a hierarchy. All I hear from the mods is we are just ordinary members well obviously that is not the case. If they dont want the hassle dont do it. It is not a case that they do not know what is involved prior to their elavation in status. Strange that the subject of charging to be a member has been raised this week but then again they probably wouldn't have to pay for that either. A lot of the problems on here in the past have been when all has not been transparent and it is happening again. To an outsider it would look like the site is being run so those in charge can peddle their wares!
