It's not ideal but if thats what you have to do then try and basket any dominent cockbirds seperatly, make sure they've got a drinker and put the basket somewhere dark so the birds are in a restfull state and not tireing themselves out chasing each other around the basket all day.

can't see the point or benefit! Breeding when the stock should be resting with the weather prob not realy being favourable either. You've then got to house them, feed them and train them as youngbirds which if kept natural would also be heavy in the moult towards the end of the old bird season. You've then got to have somewhere seperate to house your proper youngbird team!

Reason the RPRA no is on NFC site for reporting strays is the NFC don't keep a register and if you ring them will tell you to ring the RPRA as i said above!

NFC won't want to know, RPRA will only know owner if its been re-registered as the ring lists are deleted in there 10th year!

most mineral blocks/pickstones contain salt, the birds like it but will only effect them if they gorge themselves after not having it readily available for a while.

Most std widowhood boxes are 30" wide and the max would normaly be 4 high so in an 8x6 you would only get 12 boxes.
