  1. made a good job, only comment would be the landing board looks slippery and may put birds off from landing on it directly!

    new droppers

if you don't know what condition they are in then you could ask the person you got them from if they have been treated for anything or to be sure if they do need anything then get some droppings etc tested.
  4. I was getting £300 pa and thats what the current sec is now getting but as Tom says it doesn't cover your costs, the running around you do for members the phone calls etc let alone the time it takes to administrate the club. Many like to complain about there secs but are never prepared to take a turn!
  5. BHW any day over the RP
  6. go to a local builders merchant and get 18mm shuttering ply, 8x4 about £15 a sheet. DIY stores usualy at least double the price.
  7. super glue!
  8. the other thing that i havn't seen mentioned is a lot of birds get rung upside down, will the chip fall out even easier?
  9. Mark is that a hasbelagh trap?
  10. behave Ted, no good for your blood preasure! ;D

  12. frillbacks
  13. and another then!
  14. welcome to the site. I would recomend having some birds from your dad and grandad if they are succesful as you will know the birds will perform to your area! When you are competing with them on a results level week in week out then is the time to seek out better birds but get the basics right first. Enjoy your birds!
  15. the best option i've found for a flat roof is 18mm shuttering ply on 2x2 battons running front to back of the loft, this will give you a 2" air gap front and back and then cover with the corugated bituman sheets. The wood will prevent condensation and help keep the loft at a more constant temp. If you realy wanted to you could a couple of 2' squares, fill those with twin wall and then put clear corugated over the top, this would prevent condensation but allow extra light with a sliding shutter if you wanted to control the light.
  16. what i have done befoe now with quail and bantems is put them in the incubator, put the auto turning on but keep the heat off.
  17. same here!
  18. because they do not have a metal sleeve/insert in the middle if the ring.
  19. Why would it have an effect on racing? As far as I can see it will only have an effect of the sellers at Lier Market!
  20. they won't want to pair up and lay at 3 months old!
  21. At the moment members have the option, they pay there 26p per ring and if they choose to use ETS they pay £1.10 for the chip etc. Do you think rings should cost £1.35+ each where members wouldn't get the choice? With the amount of losses it will make racing even more expensive.
  22. marketing opportunity there for you Bob, patent and produce coloured inserts!
  23. Toulet is the same!
  24. Only ever cut one wing and the flights will only grow back when the bird goes through the moult. How old are the birds that havn't laid yet?
