  3. Well spotted Freebird, I don't know why its linked to my own web site but will try to break the link today. Phil
  4. It sounds like she may be going off looking for home. Sometimes they need a few days rest and food, once they start to get fit again they will dissapear for a while looking around and then one day will decide they are ready to head for home. Time will tell! Well done looking after her Phil
  5. Don't tell the wife about thisor she'll want you to go shopping on a saturday knowing you will get a message etc to say the bird will be home in 10 mins etc! No more afternoons sat in the garden! My concern would be that we often talk about how birds may or may not be effected by mobile signals etc and this would just fill the air with more wave signals! Phil
  6. There are two types of grant, Lottery funds tend to be awarded to village halls, charity's etc where as most clubs are applying to Awards For All!
  7. I thought that within the convoyers code of conduct / rules they had to carry equiptment to re-rubber unless they know which basket the bird came fromthen they could just re-rubber that basket.
  8. If a bird escapes all birds should be rerubbered, not sure of procedure regarding ets
  9. good luck with them, there are a few roller guys on here.
  10. Welcome, Tell us about yourself, do you race , what area, what birds do you keep etc Phil
  11. members who only place adverts and never contribute to any topics!
  12. Adam, you are correct in what you say but there are many people on here and other forums who are not in a position to travel and handle the birds for themselves. When dealers or missleading adverts are placed there is nothing wrong with other members warning prospective purchasers of any facts they may have regarding the advert. It is then down to any purchasers to make up there own mind as to wether they part with there money or not. Phil
  13. and what were the positions in the club?
  14. Yes, as pointed out there are many other sports / hobbies also suffering so we as pigeon fanciers don't need to be seen to stand alone! Phil

Anybody who has parrots, cage birds etc may have come accross a featheredflyer website, there are many interesting articles on there about how much there members think of not only the RSPB but the RSPCA as well. A lot of there members, and the cage bird membership exceeds the pigeon membership would also back a group trying to promote conservation and not the narrow mindedness of the big boys! Phil
  24. I have tried to find my old recipe for Potassium Permanganate in drinking water without success. Has anybody got the correct recipe please, was something like disolve a teaspoon in water then dilute in a gallon of water, but not 100% Help!
