depends how long for. If away for a weekend then the birds are put on hoppers with plenty of water they are fine. If away for longer then somebody moves in to look after house, some of the zoo and the birds.

make sure the bill is tied to the dead bird before sending!

Ignore pieces of paper, breeds etc. As said above test them and then best to best but also try and balance types, size etc to build a family of the sort of bird you want.

You will need to ask your sec if they'll accept them as trainers but they will still have to be rubbered and you will need to provide vaccination certificate for them.
