i think the combine made the right decission racing during the week from Belgium and German race points! By the time the birds hit kent area they would have been split up to a certain degree and then more likely to clash with large federation birds going up and down the country on a saturday. Likewise we held the youngbird races on sundays for the same reason to give the birds crossing England a better chance, common sence in my eyes! Phil

I was at a friends a few weeks ago and he was telling me a story about a local very succesful fancier. When this fancier was getting old a few of the local lads would go and give him a hand, on day my friend popped around and the fancier was missing so he went in cleaned out the lofts and scrubbed the drinkers as they were all green. When the fancier came back he hit the roof, not because the loft was clean but purely because the algae had been removed from his drinkers and it would take weeks to get them back in the condition he kept them in!

yes it should be open to all to use, but they (wnrf) won't allow that! Tom, no birds should have to be transfered unless there is a very good reason, i.e transporter breaks down etc, there has been in most cases a provision to get enough baskets distributed to all feds concerned by the convoying feds but not when the wnrf are concerned!

Paul, all other feds have always distributed baskets etc for combine/ national races but not the WNRF, they were insisting the birds were transfered to there crates at there location. Would you want your birds mauled around transfered etc etc, they were just being selfish spoilt brats and they didn't buy the transporter, the lotto grant did!

how can it be affiliated already? Meeting was only held to form it yesterday, has it been publisised yet asking for objections or as suspected and said many times on this thread was it all cut and dried brfore the meeting?

Last season when they threw there toys out of there pram and were insisting all the feds in the combine had to use there transporter, the other feds in the combine were calling a meeting to pull out of the combine and leave them to it, True! Now they have there way and good luck/ridence to them the combine will be a happier place without them even with reduced birdage.

I don't normally put bowls in until day 3 so the cock has the whole box to drive the hen then bowl in and plenty of good clean dry straw to help themselves from. As said above, some will build huge nests and some just don't bother. Phil
