  1. the bird would have to be confined so would need to go through the bobs first before going over the pad as a bird with yours can walk in, be clocked then turn around and walk back out.
  2. thats ok for RPRA but no good for WHPU
  3. agreed
  4. I don't think most of us will ever know how you realy feel Chriss and hope we never do (not being nasty). I can all only imagine what it would be like to lose one of mine, its hard enough only seeing 2 of them every other weekend. As for work, there are genuine cases for help and wasters as in all parts of life and everybody knows which catagory they fit into.

Its all relative, the choice of a fancier to send or not is there choice, if mine arn't ready they won't go simple, I won't send them and hope. But if the majority of members in a club/fed decided not to send each week the fed would be broke by the end of the year and every member would be expected to pay a levy to recover the cost. The way we do it means every fancier has a choice, north, south, east or west wind, 100 or 600 mile race if they send or not the future of the organisation is ensured!

as the thread has changed towards racing costs and not east winds i'll add a bit! When i moved here it was the first time i had come accross the system our fed uses, every flying member in the fed pays a flying fee each week, £6 for 20 birds and 10p a bird over that. This mean the fed know how many members they have and exactly how much money will be coming into the fed each year. If you choose not to send you still pay so those who do send are not subserdising others as they will also be paying! This means the fed will never get into financial problems wether 10,000 or 10 birds get sent evrything is still paid for.

  21. Whats better, to get tested and correctly treat and maybe miss a race or lose a lot of unhealthy birds by sending them without realising there is a problem? Anthony can you give us some more details about your set up, feeding, history etc?
  22. Anthony, it could be caused by stress if they were sent to the race in an unfit state. Before guessing and stuffing them full of medication get the droppings tested.
