in my opinion, the past posts proove that names of so-called breeds sell,,,,and sell well,,,, to mugs [sorry to say] many dont win with these so-called breeds at 150 miles,,,, some do,, find the man who wins at this distance , year after year, and still wins to-day , then find his methods,,,,you can buy the birds ,,,but you cant buy the man,,as i say, this is only my opinion

many years ago, i didnt use nest pans, just thick straw, when on w/hood everything was gutted out,, and the loft bare, b4 any impoerant race, the straw went in,, and did they remember it ,,, but one fancier watching me tried this [birds had never seen straw] put the fear of death into the birds, didnt trap on the sat,, so maybe a lesson here

yes i agree, they do get cute,, but once on the ball really ruitine should suffice ,, my thoughts are, its much to do with the temprement of the individual pigeon

iknow exactly what your meaning alan theres good pigeons and bad pigeons, theres good managers and bad managers,, getting the two good combinations together certainly will give you more chance

dont think its off topic atall think a good manager, can set a pigeon up for a race , to be sent in the best poss condition

the same good managers are to be seen at the top with many different type pigeons , through many years , my thoughts would be, a good manager would get the best out the pigeon
