  2. ;D ;D ;D posts seem to be getting a little heated, lets keep it as a good debate, we all learn something , and it wouldnt be natural if we all had the same opinions ;D ;D ;D cheers all :)
  3. fee them barley for a while wetherthey like it or not , they will soon eat it and never put on weight
  4. we do not discount the fact that a great many of our racing oigeons are lost for a variety of resons,,,, the weather, illness, even accidents. some also turn frral, but the fact of the matter is that if a raptor attacks a flock of racing pigeons engaged in a race or arround their loft, the pigeons will scatter, their homing instinct totally desstroyed and they will not return to their loft. such an attack during a race andthe consequential panic amongst pigeons was captured on ch 4 in a documentary some time ago. so really statistics mean nothing , when it comes to hawks. as ive said before

  9. nowadays we seem to be breeding a strain of birds with no constitution at all, by treating for this that and the other, yes treat if you have to treat, but ill bet youll find the best birds with the strongest constitution never get ill

  13. WHY NOT GET THERE DROPPINGS TESTED AND EVEN A SWAB TAKEN , AS THERES TYPES CANKER THAT CAN BE DETECTED IN THEIR DROPPINGS OTHER TYPES FROM SWABS, IF THERES NOTHING WRONG WITH THEM ITS STILL A LOT CHEAPER THAN TREATING THEM FOR EVERYTHING
  14. WAS TOLD TO USE NASELINE AT ONE TIME,, TRIED IT ON MYSELF FIRST EYES WATERED ALL DAY NOSE RAN ALL DAY, NO WAY I WOULD USE IT ON PIGEONS, IF YOUR VENTILATION IS RIGHT AND THE CONSTITUTION OF YOUR BIRDS ARE RIGHT, YOU SHOULNDNT NEED ANYTHING [MIND YOU THE OLBAS OIL DOES SMELL NICE]

  18. very very interesting but complicated subject, web sites very pleasant to watch , but after looking at a few , they tend to differ slightly, in opinions. im looking a bit more in to it [not that i think the colour makes any differance in racing] but quite amazing stuff.
  19. good one snowy, ill be taking part in that, i hope many more do
  20. ;)is red colour trait dominent to blue colour trait? :) or vica verca
  21. ill offer 50p toward bail money,,,,on tuesday ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
  22. the reason i Asked that question was that at one time i bred a pigeon that was blue cheq on one side and red cheq on other side, in fact i think rose had a photo on the forum of one similar, i have also seen this half and half colour before i thought it might have been a" DOMICESSIVE ;D ;D ;D," whats the differance of an ash red and a red cheq?,
  23. can any one tell me, if a red cheq is recessive , and a blue cheq dominant.?
  24. neither do i :) go to" ask paul on genetics" and youll be worse off ;D ;D ;D
  25. im not quite sure what the man means mspigeon, i know there are dominant colours and recessive colours and as far as am aware of that a white one is actually colourless, dont ask me how they arrive at that, but would be interested to see replies i somehow think there is no pigment in the whites but to me its still a colour,,,white
