  11. i would agree with tony c, the breast will probably be bruised and swollen , and at that stage would be difficult to tell if the keel is broken, but looking at the worst , it will still will still "heal" allthough it has a damaged keel , and you may feel it in the future , the bird will still be ok ,, best of luck with it anyway
  12. while i agree with the proper vet, advice, would have to say ,there are vets and there are vets , some are devoted to their job for the love of it, others tend to be on the money making side,, [as i have found out myself in the past]

i can also vouch for stuarts ,honesty and integrity at doing his best for all
  15. when my birds were having to be kept in by6 loft and 8 by 6 aviary i gave the this quite often [as these birds werent getting a pick at natural things outside[ i found this beneficial for the birds , also put the fresh mole hill earth in for them to pick at ,also, i now noticed that when they were getting out , they were eating the white flowers off the allycum [spellt wrong ;D] but this didnt seem to do them any harm , theve never been treated for worms, cocci etc for about a year , but look ok , but just out of curiosity ive taken their droppings for testing , so it might be interesting [or embarrasing ;D] what the results show :)

    nettle tea

my father used to take the top 6 inches of th stinging nettle chop it up and make nettle tea for the pigeons he used to say it was detoxifying for their system , full of iron, and was good for the blood , this was off course years ago , but just mention it now as i never here of pigeon fanciers mention this now,, does anyone ever use it or if they have have they found it beneficial :)

  18. i agree it would be very easy to break them , but if they were stuck out all night or maybe two without food would stint them in the middle of their moult , very shortly itll be dark at 4pm so really i would say there was no hurry, i would tend to wait untill theve finished their moult really

  21. the ones that inspire me are the novices who [through hard work and learning] are quick to pick things up , take all the knocks, and ups and downs that pigeons throw at you, and come out winning in the end

  25. yes easier with the same loft ,, if you can build a make shift aviary , separate cocks and hens [ with separated aviary] and as they are yearlings and probably not going to do the longer races later in the year, would leave them like that till jan[ thats if your racing w,hood,] then pair up , and when their sitting , take the aviary away, you shouldnt have any problems ,as far as them homing hope that helps mate.
