  1. :) yes looking good birds looking well :)
  2. :) looking good westy :)
  3. i can understand your position shogun , and obviously your looking after your birds, and as this bird is special to you i understand what your saying,,but as for the cause of it is very difficult to sus out over the internet, as you say all the other birds are fine and well looked after, ijust wonder if the bird has mixed with any wild birds outside the loft or making a habit of drinking dirty water ,accessed by wild birds, outside the loft anywhere, as there must be a reason for this, however i do see your point in trying to cure a bird you like so much [sometimes thats the difficult part of pigeons[ i hope you succeed and the bird improves ] maybe you could let us know shogun , and good luck :)
  4. ideal for free :) ive printed some out very handy for your own self , you can pair paper to paper all winter , change each pair to suit all ready for pairing up time :)
  5. i like the idea of the microscope, i havent got one , but have a good pigeon flier freind who has, and its amazing what you can see, and at differant times of the year also, especially cocci and worms :) so a good investment

    Nestmates

have paired nest mates together [by mistake] bred bird to top the fed , all ybs reared and looked fine, but wouldnt advise this for racing ,but outcrossed to another inbred bird from another top class family, had good results
  10. hi bob,,at least the breeder seems very gennuine and cant be fairer than that , thats why in other posts ive said dont treat whilst moulting, as i have did this b4 and found this out , but what i will say is if the birds were stinted as babies by treating, i,e fret marks as such, would tend to think theve not had the best start in life , and allthough sounding a bit harsh , would much prefer ,nothing less than a perfectly reared yb, only my opinion bob best of luck anyway :)
  11. i agree also stuart and also agree with speed a wee constructive debate is good and we all pick up bits and bobs , as with pigeons , supposing you were 90 youd still be learning, i suppose that makes it so interesting :) im not really an eyesign man myself , but even the eyesign experts will tell you that the pigeon must have all the other attributes to go along with it , and my own opinion is that the management has a lot to do with it as well :)
  12. ;D ;D ;D ;D just noticed that tony ;D ;D ;D some set up ;D ;D definately the best yet ;D
  13. ;D ;D ;D might be still there yet fifer ;D ;D ;D good pics
  14. i think thats excactly what i was trying to say
  15. ;D ;D ;D good lad ;D ;D ;D at least we can laugh [was expecting some one to say bull s,,,,, ;D ;D]
  16. yes in my opinion antibiotics are abused by some pigeon fanciers, who really should be advised by vet
  17. i see what your saying speedy but albino is differant all together this is a pink eye with no pigment i have seen an albino pigeon bred which had an actual pink eye , this bird never came to anything and was more or less a freak of nature [like me ;D]
  18. i think you could well be right speed, but i think nature has taken care of that with pigeons , giving them three eyelids , the third eyelid is a sun visor and a windscreen washer etc,its a very very thin membrane that really does a big job
  19. thats what im trying to say if the media saw all these one loft races and the money involved, im sure they would forget about the snotty nosed kid [who has to start somewhere] its the snotty nosed adults that act like kids that are bringing the sport down a level instead of trying to bring the sport up a level, in front of the publics eyes
  20. there are plenty theories in racing pigeons , but sometimes differant in practise, its like saying white repels the heat and black absorbs the heat [which is fact] therefore on a very hot day you should get a white one,,but do you :)
  21. yes i have did this, a pair if pieds , not related paired on their own , so i just left them , both were well bred,, the ybs had bull eyes and found that much as the rest they bred some good ones and some not so good ones [one of them did particularly well in a few races]
  22. hi paul just to explain breifly is that the one loft races , are races where you pay your entry fee , then send your birds to race in that particular loft, among everybody elses birds that have been entered, if you look at the rpra one , it maybe give you some idea,,there are some great big ones with massive prizemoney but there are smaller ones with less entry fee, but still good prizes ,, this post was to find out about them all and where they are etc , i know theres quite a big one in scotland and probably more in england , but there are some massive ones like the sun city one ,,,but hopefully paul ,well find out more about them as the post goes along,, linda knows of a few of them and chatrace holds one in america, where you will get some info at the very top of the page, anyway paul no harm in looking at them , best of luck anyway :)
  23. as chat says " his is the most informative one" every one is emailed regularly excatly how the birds are doing , where their trained etc in fact every single detail , even photos of the libs and photos of the birds, he really does make an excellent job of it,,,,,hope all goes well in the last race today ,,and good luck to all who are in it
  24. shogun ,, very difficult to advice people what to do with their birds but would ask myself the question , why is it like this in the first place, there is usually a reason , but to be brutally honest if it was that bad , i would dispose of it, and if its not that bad , the whole flock maybe saved by simple remedies , ie plenty of fresh dry fresh air in the loft, no dampness whatsoever, no overcrowding, and keeping the loft clean and dry , birds with the right constitution kept in the right conditions shouldnt really catch this [but off coures there may well be an excuse fort his bird , it may have been in contact with other birds with this or went through some sort of extra stress] would make sure all this is ok first, then maybe add some cider vinegar to the water , for a week or so,,,, i find by adding garlic to the water2 or 3 times a week all year helps the birds immune system, off course this is only my opinion ,and sincerly hope you get to the bottom of it,and wish you well.[i found by using antibiotics "cures"it ,, but lowers the birds resistence, and it will rear its ugly head again] all the very best anyway shogun , and asi say ,,wish you well
  25. ive had a few people ask me about one loft races info, and where abouts, in the world, entry fees, dates etc , etc so thought it may be worth a post for any interested parties to see,,,,so maybe we could get a list of them from members that know more about them
