when we used to keep birds in the[ yard] this was a yard where there were greyhound men car repairers , wood cutters [giant saw] motor bike repairers ,, all a great crowd ;D there were at that time 5 pigeon lofts mine being one of them,, the chap opposite , who shall remain nameless ;D ;D ;D, wandered in to his loft absolutely sozzled [ it was a sat, he was last that day, ;D] he had outside flaps for his drinkers [didnt even here me shouting on him ;D] proceeded to take a half bottle of rum,, poured it into his drinker muttering ," ill sort yous lot out this this week" ;D ;D ;D he then staggered out,, at that time i drank [i dont now] went over from my loft , took the drinker sat on my easy chair, at my loft and drank the lot ;D ;D ;D fell asleep , won 3 nationals , topped the fed 6 times every one a pooler ;D ;D ;D ;D then i woke up ,,,,ill,,, ;D ;D ;D this is true and the chap involved does not beleive me to this day ;D ;D ;D[ no wonder ;D ;D ;D]

yes salmonella. paratyphoid , same thing,, paramyxo all can be "cured" to a certain extent , but they will allways be carriers, and nervous symtom after effects ,, rid yourself of them , disenfect loft ,,, start afresh ,, really your just playing with fire and courting bother for the future ,,, i have went through this and beleive me i know what im talking about ,,,, good luck to you and hope you take this advice ,, maybe harsh but at least its the truth ,,

i must agree with roland here, most yearlings are lost early in the season [even if theve flown 300 miles as ybs],, yearlings come on a treat in the month of may and can win well up to 360 miles even further if pushed , but at least glad youve got some back :) a wee rest[ maybe droppings tested[and a couple of trainers then right in to 200 miles in the best of weather , if their right theyll win again, the best of luck to you [ so may not be over yet for you :) ]

i wish you luck jason ,, who knows ,, could be the winner , but i think your doing the right thing,concentrate on the ybs

sorry to here of this jason,, i feel there has to be a reason for loosing these birds ,, i think i would seek into this, learn by your mistakes [sounds a bit harsh, but never the less true] i think i would now concentrate on a decent team of yb,s,, i really do wish you luck as this is obviously a real downer for you,, but , as with pigeons , time and patience could turn things around for you

there is a really top avian , goverment run vet who would do this for you craig [test the droppings anyway] i know the doctor in charge fairly well ,,the tests would be expertly done at a minimum cost,, you would have to send me your droppings [ well the pigeons ;D] if you have an uplift post about 4pm , theyll be in the docs by 9 30 am , and printed results quick

at least we would know where the money was going ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

sorry a bit late ronnie, but wondered how they performed sat,, did you send the hen? ,one thing for sure is , if you can get yearlings bang on , theyll win at 340 miles no prob best of luck

as you were salesman[ clockman] last year ,, maybe you could advise who the committee was then, as ive never heard of any committee? webmaster was salesman this year.

i think the webmaster is the one to ask ,, i have mentioned this b4 ,, but at that time there was still cash to come in , ,but agree its time to get things moving

yes a good thing for the fed in getting £600 ,, but there are fanciers who just cant afford this , especialy , as you say , when they have to phone many times on a difficult day, or a holdover ,,,,,and the phone company makes more but i suppose its the only way at the moment ,,unless someone comes up with something differant , im sure something would be possible, as more and more fanciers are just simply saying ,,its a rip off :-/

great idea of the video of the lib and conditiions at the race point this could actualy make some cash for the fed ,, as you will get some fanciers saving up all dvd,s of each lib. especialy if theve won the race ;D " a small donation to the fed for each dvd" ;D the lib line does make money for the fed, but i feel its too expensive

maybe the new breed ,, the van celtics ;D ;D ;D theve won evey race up to now ;D ;D ;D seriously , if i wanted to win up to 200 miles , i would purchase late breds, bred only off the best [the actual multiple winners] from someone racing in my location ,racing on the same terrain winnig more than his share of winnings,,,no matter what the , so called breed is called,,,,,,,,but i would also tear this mans brains apart [ you cant buy this ;D ] as to how to fly them ,,,,,then i would beat him ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D [not all as simple as it seems ;D]
