    late birds

this is why i think maybe a misinterpretation has taken place , as chrissy says , the birds can barely fly at that age , so maybe weve picked up wrong ,,,i hope

    late birds

im not really quite sure of your posting,,m,b ,, but if i am reading it right you say your training them at 5 weeks?? [dont know if ive picked you up right] but best wait until their about 9 weeks at least, even then short tosses to begin with ,then as the weeks tick by , they'll be ready to stretch out further,, ive allways found a bird better for being trained in its year of birth

    late birds

these birds will make excellent pigeons ,, trained young ,, installed in their head whilst young , i think tammy making a bit of a meal of this its common sense ,, that if youve plenty yb,s left ,, the idea would be termed [as trying to lose them] but in reality , theres no way you want to lose them,, you would only take more of a chance with them, and push them harder,,,, try to keep them,, and youll lose them ,, take a chance and go for it and you dont seem to ,, finish up with better birds ,,,,bet stu wont lose them so easy now and bet he knows it too
  14. great idea ,,

    Hawks

as you will see in the past posts poly ,, i had reported an attack to the rspb , you will see the answer???? at least a pair of crows nesting on their own will soon let you know if theirs hawks, cats, etc about, but sometimes , even they get a bit over protective , and will actualy go for a young pigeon [even catch and kill them] but would rather have the crows than the sparrowhawks

  21. I HAVE USED "WESTLANDS AFTER CUT LAWN FEED AND CONDITIONER" IT NEVER HAS HARMED THE BIRDS,, MIND YOU THEIR NOT ON IT MUCH,, BUT AS IVEGOT RID OF THE WEEDS EARLIER THIS YEAR, I FIND THAT USING PHOSTROGEN SLOW RELEASE PELLETS FROM HOMEBASE ,, YOU CAN POKE A HOLE IN THE LAWN AND POKE THE PELLET CLUSTERS RIGHT BELOW THE SURFACE WHERE THE BIRDS CANT GET AT THEM ,,,OR JUST THUMB THEM IN EVERY FEW SQ YDS ,, LOVELY GREEN LAWN AND LASTS 6 MONTHS ,,,AND NO WAY THE BIRDS CAN GET AT THEM

    Hawks

as usual an interesting posting ,roland, the bit that gets me about the hawks, is a paragraph from a leaflet from the reddings, A FARMER HAS THE RIGHT TO PROTECT HIS SHEEP FROM A STRAY DOG, IF A FOX OR RAT WERE TO ENTER A FANCIERS LOFT, AND DESTROY HIS PIGEONS, HE WOULD HAVE THE RIGHT TO DEFEND HIS PROPERTY, IN THIS CASE PIGEONS, BY KILLING THE ATTACKER. YET IF A RAPTOR ATTACKS HIS PROPERTY , THE SAME WAY, EITHER ACTUALLY IN HIS LOFT OR TAKING PIGEONS FROM AROUND HIS LOFT, ,,,,,",HE HAS NO LEGAL RIGHT TO PROTECT HIS PROPERTY,",,,,,,THIS IS JUST PLAIN STUPID
