  1. Well done mate. When these guys get it wrong most have plenty to say, however when they get it right few have anything to comment. Changing for the good of the birds the day of the basketing,is also a good thing. Being more adaptable is the way forward. We do it this way cause its always been done this way should be no longer acceptable. Well done the Glesga Fed
  2. Phil, Sure you will agree, you could not write the script for this thread. Its been a great story, that has not only inspired seasoned fanciers, but in time will also help bring people in to our great sport. Fantastic Well done David
  3. Hope the weather clears ok,wish all midland Fed members all the best. May get a race later this afternoon. cheers

  11. Yes this is best weekend for some time.Think it is safe to say, may wish they had took this warning with less than a pinch of salt. Will be interesting to see how this week (green and good for pigeons)and last week which was Black and you went if you dared. Cheers Rab
  12. The ability of a pigeon to home, and how it is able to do this is far from conclusive. Great unanswered question yeah. If we do not know how they return, how we suposed to know what may stop them. Shoots in the dark spring to mind. The weather, and the pigeons health, are but two concrete contrabutions to success, therfore it could be argued, they are also eliments that would contribute to failure It is impotent that we keep an open mind, the answers out there. However we will have to have conclusive proof of how they can home,in order to begine to examine the reasons behind there sometimes in ability to home Yeah?
  13. Hi Delboy, agree with you 100% mate, however this was a fact before this weekend, as it remains a fact now. In todays long races you very much send your birds and take your chance. Not to get a good bird in the clock is one thing, losing say a 5 year old hen who has done it before, is yet another thing. Realy feel for those fanciers who in essence have to start all over again. All the best mate

  23. Think im with you Rory, but i do respect Dublinflyer's oppinion. Lets just see how the returns is over the weekend,Ihave been tracking this info for some time now, and find it good advice, when you look at all the poor returns over recent weeks.
  24. Yes may ways to look at this. However will not be tossing young birds on Sat ,when this is black. Will let other prove them wrong. Dublinflyer, can if he wants after all below is his conclusion, but its not mine. my conclusion on this is that this link and the info on it is bull Good luck to those whether they listen or not If they race this weekend i fear they will need it. Happy days
  25. BLACK areas represent dangerous times in which significant loss of birds may be observed if trained or raced from a distance. This off the pigeon navigation site, for Sat the 19th Can't say we did not know guys Convoyers are sure to take note Yeah? Keep your young birds in the loft on Sat
