  8. Had them most of my days.still get a buzz when birds return from 40 miles, or 400 miles. There is indeed a lot of probs however it is a great passtime. When i say passtime i really mean a way of life. Much has been said by the doom and gloom merchants, about the BOP Problem bringing our sport to an end. They do indeed have a point, however the not to many young people in our sport dont want to here the d end is nie.for them they look forward to racing the birds many years after ther Father Grandfather have gone. This talk gets there back up.i agree with some good posts here.to many unions,to many nationals and not enough direction, from above. I for one love me birds and will continue with them for many years to come. Good luck to all this week Cheers Rab Smith

  12. Yeah it is my pick also. It is bred down through Robbie Higgins pigeons in Fraserburgh off his good belg hen.
  13. Here are a few of our yb national 2011 hopefuls And some more And finaly one of Jakjak for on here.
  14. Try One here
  15. Would love to see Andy do it.However he has proved time and again, to be wanting when it matters. He will make a great deal of money, but will never be a champion. Good luck just the same.
  16. BBC News wed site, how to keep pigeons from iterfering with the smooth running of Wimbeldon.
  17. Agree John, however some direction from the top is also needed. At the start of this thread some one said lets have an outside agency who would give direction. The need for this is brought about due to weak leadership.time someone made disisions for the good of the Pigeons, and not what advantages members may have over others. Y/B National should not exceed 200 miles into central belt, and without doubt should be after the last fed Race.Sep does not represent the best time for racing. As for darkness the main reason this is used,is to give a better chance come september.Change it,and darkness will become a thing of the past. Each year that passes these good discusions come up,but nothing is done to revitilise our sport. Strong leadership come up with good ideas which enhance and preserve
  18. As per ever year at this time, some very intersting points. The different pigeons, and the enviroment in which we keep our pigeons, stands in the way of some real conclusions. It could be argued that it will be many and varied reasons why such things happen. I for one would like to see the creation of an experimental loft in Scotland.A project over 4/5 years. Costantley reporting back to the fancy on its findings. Lets see for example how many young bird training from race points, when it suiable to go, and not just on a Saturday.Put it to you the losses may well be tolirable when the conditions suits the pigeons and not us the fancier.Just how much this is the case remains to be seen. However done under these conditions where you take competitiness out of the equition.Let this project collect as smuch information and prof as posible on the Bop problems.Lets be able to report pecentages of numbers.Lets be clear on how long it may take to hit bottom after starting with say 150 birds next year.Lets track them if we need to. Cost of such a project if done correctly may come from the fancy its self, however given its nature would be also worth looking into grants. Whats you thoughts.
  19. What distaces you got for two front runners mate
  20. If we know distances we would know result.be mindful not all report pigeons on lib line. Going to be a long day for all. Good luck
